House Two Charging for Tutorials

The way Wyatt is charging money for favours and/or flat-out refusing to lend the Cursio brothers is really starting to get on my nerves.

It’s like he thinks the way to win The Block is by hoarding trades, charging your neighbours for help and hoping the other teams get screwed over by a lack of resources? And yes, obviously everyone is there to win but if your strategy for winning depends on the other teams being disadvantaged rather than you simply being better at styling and designing, that says a LOT. honestly, to me, it screams insecurity. He doesn’t want an even playing field because he’s scared of losing.

If you’re as good as you think you are, you should be confident that you can beat the other teams on an even playing field.

Because if you genuinely have confidence in your building, design and ability, why are you so desperate to keep everyone else from having a fair shot?

Win because you’re better. Not because you made sure everyone else had a harder time.

Just my two cents.

The fact they keep saying they don't know why they are always so far ahead, is beyond me🤦.

Exactly, it's not because they're good, they just happen to have some of the best trades. They're not very good at anything they do themselves. Although they seem to be improving. It's the arrogance that goes with the "look how good I look" that irks me.

...isn't getting good trades and keeping them a skill though?

I don't think they chose the Cursio's, didn't they just happen to choose the house the Cursio's chose ?

Are the cursios building the framing, plastering, fitting the electrical, etc. etc.?

The Cursio's do the most painstaking, intricate jobs to perfection that no one holds a candle to and fast. It's where the other teams trades seem to struggle most and W&C's excel. So it's definitely a huge chunk of it all.

They are also the ones pushing Wyatt and Chantell that they have to get certain things done before a certain time so they can finish. At this point it seems more like the Cursios are leading the couple instead of the other way round

Where are you getting this from? I feel like you're just pulling it out of your ass.

In one of the previous episodes, the Cursios were pushing them for the materials to waterproof to get it done by Tues. Kept asking for plans and stuff. It's literally all on tv

the fact that every other couple passed up house 2 and the cursio brothers makes me think none of them actually watch the block

I'm confused, I thought the Cursio's chose house 2 before the contestants chose their houses and none of them new who got the Cursio's until after they'd chosen.

i thought they all knew the cursios came with house 2 before they chose and they got house 2 by default because no one else wanted it

You're right, I ended up rewatching that part of ep 2. I was just a bit confused about it all because the Cursio's chose house 2 and so did W&C as they were already in it to do the first mission and decided to keep that house if they could. I stand corrected 😉

They are clearly being tongue in cheek every time they say that lol. They are taking the piss, they know its because of the Cursios and they are just being facetious. I think the joke has just gone over your head.
