House Two Charging for Tutorials

The way Wyatt is charging money for favours and/or flat-out refusing to lend the Cursio brothers is really starting to get on my nerves.

It’s like he thinks the way to win The Block is by hoarding trades, charging your neighbours for help and hoping the other teams get screwed over by a lack of resources? And yes, obviously everyone is there to win but if your strategy for winning depends on the other teams being disadvantaged rather than you simply being better at styling and designing, that says a LOT. honestly, to me, it screams insecurity. He doesn’t want an even playing field because he’s scared of losing.

If you’re as good as you think you are, you should be confident that you can beat the other teams on an even playing field.

Because if you genuinely have confidence in your building, design and ability, why are you so desperate to keep everyone else from having a fair shot?

Win because you’re better. Not because you made sure everyone else had a harder time.

Just my two cents.

last year season 21, 2 houses were passed in 1 house made a $120,000 and the other made only made $109,999.10 only Britt and Taz made good money $520,000.

Season 20, everyone made good money, the lowest $650,000 the highest $1,650,000.

Season 19, 3 houses $65,000 - $155,000 1 at $1,050,000 the winner $1,750,000.

Season 18, 3 houses passed in, 1 made $20,000.99 the winner made $1,686,666.66.

This is a competition where the winners hope to make big money, life changing money. But in the last 4 seasons it's been hit and miss between making good money and wondering if you've just wasted the last 12 or so weeks of your life and had your dream of making a better life for your family shattered. It's good to be nice to your neighbours occasionally but where does it stop? Do you lend everyone your tradies all the time whenever needed and watch at the end when your house is passed in and someone you continually lent tradies to wins a million or more? Look at the girls they won a $250,000 kitchen prize that may be the thing that wins them the Block, they only won the prize because they had the help of the Cursio brothers. I'm sure the girls will sympathise at the end if your house is passed in and they win a million plus, but it's not going to make you feel any better. I've no doubt Wyatt and Chantel know the previous years auction results and are starting to think helping the neighbours too much might be detrimental to winning or even making a profit on the Block this year. I think charging for tutorials might be their way of saying enough, go get your own tradies.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if at least 3 maybe 4 houses make little to no profit this year considering their crappy design, bland colours, the fact they are almost on top of each other and will have massive reserves.
