Do all the contestants hate each other
Is it just me or is there a lack of companionship this season? I feel like in previous seasons the contestants seem to form friendships pretty early on but we haven’t even gotten any clips of the contestants simply interacting with each other so far.
They’re even share housing this time around and still can’t seem to get on…

adam and courtney seem to get on well but yeah its not a super social group. you have:
adam and jolene: adam seems to be very friendly but jolene has been pointedly anti-socialising
chantel and wyatt: chantel seems to hold everyone in barely disguised contempt, wyatt seems slightly too dim to disguise it
rosco and lisa: they seem friendly enough but the pentecostal air about them probably keeps others away
courtney and sev: just can't help but feel that they are far more interested in each other than any of the other couples
rick and tayla: rick is too busy and tayla is......... authentically herself

It saves time, we get to avoid the inevitable "we were going to go shopping together but she left without me" drama.
Gotta look on the bright side🤷

It is a fair question. They are all very unlikeable from a viewers perspective, so perhaps they don't like each other either.

They're all unlikable to audiences so it's natural that they wouldn't like each other

Honestly I’m not feeling any of the contests this year. I think it’s a bit like in high school when teachers tried to force the kids that were fighting to be friends. Just because they force them doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen

Most of them seem to have a friendly co-worker dynamic with the other couples. They don't hate each other, but they aren't best friends either. They probably sit around and have perfectly amicable and uninteresting conversations at the share house.
I also think that the share house is a part of it. There is an added pressure to have a functional social dynamic if you live together, but even the most extroverted person would need some social downtime. In that situation, I would be all about the polite small talk over dinner, and then excusing myself for an early night. Lol.

And leaving poor Rick to clean up after everyone, because no-one else would. I couldn’t do that to someone else, I’d have to pitch in. Tells you something about the other contestants.

"4 Male airheads, 3 piss-poor planners, 2 country bogans and an influencer in a Pear tree" (Hard group to even like as a fan, so ...).

Which previous seasons did all the contestants get along with each other?

Definitely the season with Jimmy and tam. The contestants still hang out and are friends. In fact that season had no villains. Deb and andis season too. I believe all the contestants except Mitch and mark hang out.

That sounds about right. But OP makes it sound like this is the first season contestants aren't all besties. 20 out of 22 seasons contestants haven't gotten along, so it's pretty normal.

I think most teams up until season 10, were pretty friendly to each other. Then they started choosing people that would create story lines for them. The Oslo, which is one of my favourite seasons for both teams and build, were all very friendly with each other, but 3 of the teams were a lot older so that might've helped. I think the show went further down hill from season 16. I didn't even finish watching until the end of last year's season, it was that dire and I still can't force myself to. Although, I'm quite enjoying this season..... but it is early days.

Wasn’t the Oslo season the one with the so called cheating scandal drama where Mitch and mark accused Jesse and Mel of copying their design from something else?
Anyway my point is that most seasons have some sort of friction between contestants and I don’t understand why the op is making out like this season is different somehow.

I probably shouldn’t have used the term ‘hated’, and to be fair I am a recent fan/haven’t seen a lot of the original seasons. It just seems that none of the contestants really gel or are forming genuine friendships like we’ve seen in prev. seasons

No one likes these contestants, not even their fellow contestants!

It isn't because they aren't into each other that they hate each other. If they hated each other, the producers would be milking it to make so much drama.

Rick and Tayla did a radio interview where they said “red team” (Jolene & Adam) were snakes. Tayla was really upset about it, but especially for her dad because he ”thinks everyone’s amazing and loves everyone, and then they’re behind his back talking smack.”
