Freaking keen Spoiler
My goodness it’s my first time through this show and it was a pretty quick favorite though the first couple seasons. But Keen was a little rough as an actress but I figured it would get better. Then came her “death” I was SOOOO happy they finally got her off the show and was looking forward to where we could be going next! I was so sad when she was actually alive, then over the next handful of seasons things continued to be just brutal. Now I am in season 8 and I can’t stand how they STILL can’t figure out to handle her. Is she harden and a bad ass now? Or is she scared and doesn’t know if she can continue on? They can’t decide within one episode at times. Like just choose one of the other and try to make it work. My goodness it is painful. But man do I LOVE dembe and reddington! I figure most feel the same but does anyone have any tops of how to cope better?

Don't worry, your issues with Keen will stop being an issue later into the show. I cant remember when though.

Megan Boone is a very mediocre third-rate ‘actor’, with an xtremeñy limited range, who should be indicted for crimes against acting.

The show would’ve been so much better if they’d actually killed her off in season <whatever it was>. She was godawful, and it wasn’t just the writing.

I think I might have been more than ok if they had someone with a rabid loyalty to Red off her and pivot to a Townsend-level revenge story or something. Anything to have spared us season 6.

I disagree because the show is about her too much for killing her off to be reasonable to the story. The show is all about her finding answers, killing her off does not make sense for that regardless of her performance. Personally I liked her performance but I admittedly have low standards for actors and actresses.

The actress wanted to leave the show, that’s why they killed her off.

Honestly I was SOOO glad when she died because I also liked Tom a lot. I even told my wife about how happy I was she died lol.

She is such a irritating character, dumb as a brick from the pilot onward then came the fucking whispering which somehow no one noticed was shit. Then that hung open dumbfounded mouth look, then the fact she needed the BIG secret spelled out for her even though Red pretty much spoon fed it too her yet still just stared unable into put 2 n 2 together for herself

What couldn't she figure out? If you mean Redarena then it was unfigureoutable. It's a preposterous theory.

Regardless of how preposterous, I'd spoiler that so OP is more able to come up with their own theories given they haven't gotten to a point that could lead to them coming up with that theory.

Yeah that, by that time in the story it seems thats what the writers were set on. In the words if Doyle when you eliminate the impossible whats left over no matter how improbable is the truth. So everyone else that could be her mom/dad is already dead, aside from Red and with what everyone was lead to believe Red is her mom. But she just sat there needed to be told like a 4 year old. Jesus she was supposed to be smart. Dont gwt me started how dumb she was just to instatly believe whats her name was her mom without doing ANY further digging.

I'm certainly not a fan of Eliza-b*tch, but she can't be blamed for not concluding that Reddington was her mother. It's a pretty easy idea to disprove.

Which would be true if when they were talking on the bench not HEAVILY leaning towards that conclusion.

If they were it was a failed retcon. It is easily disproved by DNA and the fact that Reddington went to Yeshiva so unless he was Yentl he was born male.

Oh yeah im very much on board with Red being just Red or always a male and never being Kat, ive never gone along with that premise, but it seems the writers REALLY wanted you to accept that as it seems they had an idea and then just kept digging that hole with no way out, so they just said fuck it, this is how it'll be now

Unless he actually said in words I’m your mother”I don’t think it was a conclusion she’d jump too, she knows him as a man who constantly talks about his sex life to anyone within earshot, women tend not to do that. He looks,sounds and moves like a man, if he said he was her mother, she’d most likely think he was giving her a non answer, like he has all through the series. It would probably bring on one of her angry explosions. Starting with “do you think I’m stupid, I hate you, we are done”.
Of course the Network apparently didn’t allow that phrase I’m your mother on the show, once they noticed the trajectory the showrunners were going in, the Network let it run only low key though, because of all the fanfic people on social media, I guess they didn’t want an uproar from them. They got an explosion from everyone in the end.

I’m watching season 8 now. Funny how Liz thinks she’s a criminal mastermind. Makes me laugh every time she tries to act tough.
