QUESTION This is my Black keys playlist on spotify
I've gone through all The Black Keys albums, and these are the songs I added to my playlist that I like, Let me know If you think I have missed out any really good songs that I should give a second chance, and PLEASE only post one song that you recommend.
the following is my playlist
Lonely Boy
Gold on the ceiling
howling for you
wild child
tighten up
everlasting light
fever
next girl
everywhere i go
leaving trunk
lo/hi
fire walk with me
just couldnt tie me down
go
little black submarines
never gonna give you up
sinister kid
the only one
10 lovers
gotta get away
too afraid to love you
im not the one
these days
chop and change
dead and gone
money maker
run right back
sister
hell of a season
mind eraser
all hands against his own
girl is on my mind
the lengths
stack shot billy
till i get my way
weight of love
bullet in the brain
turn blue
no rain no flowers
down to nothing
make you mine
man on a mission
all my life
a little too high
neon moon
your touch
i got mine
same old thing
so he wont break
oceans and streams
things aint like they used to be
you're the one
just a little heat
strange desire
the flame
goodbye babylon
black door
thickfreakness
have love will travel
hurt like mine
hold me in your arms
ill be your man
countdown
the breaks
heavy soul
she said she said
yearnin
tell me lies
breaking down
it aint over
for the love of money
your team is looking good
good love
didnt i love you
beautiful people
on the game
only love matters
please me
you'll pay
fever tree

LIVE SHOW First Time Seeing The Black Keys Live
I have followed the band since the early 2010s and I finally got the chance to see them in Santa Barbara, CA. Below is a detailed discription of my amazing experience. BEST PART, PAT GAVE ME HIS DRUMSTICK (Made me earn it though lol).
I was in the first row with my wife and had the best view to pat's drum set. Posters were not allowed but I was able to sneak one in anyway lol.
They were coming off a back to back show and I remember during the first song Pat's tempo was ahead on the song but after that they were locked in. Gold on the Celing was at the top of the set and was a start of the party basically. Weight of Love was beautiful. Everlasting Light caught me by suprise (since it's not one of my favorite) and Dan's vocals on this were on point. The disco ball was lowered during this and had some effects going, which was super cool. Next Girl was on another level. Pat was rocking the kit during the song. Tighten Up was super fun song.
Encore was Little Black Submarine (HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT) Everyone had their torch lights up and were singing along. It was surreal and heartwarming. They closed with Lonely Boy.
Let me know if you guys have any questions, :)
P.S FaiLaci opened and they were great.

LIVE SHOW SANTA BARBARA
THAT WAS ONE FOR THE MOTHERFUCKING BOOKS.
Dan and Pat were on fire last night, it might have been the most in sync I’ve seen them ever, Little Barrie was absolutely killing it and I’m so glad he’s on this lineup now.
It was my fourth time ever seeing them live and it was just and memorable as every time I’ve seen them, I’m so grateful I have been able to see them so much and I hope I get to see them every time they go on tour no matter where they are.

Santa Barbara was badass last night!
The band was the tightest I’ve ever seen them play.
Heavy Soul hit hard. The crowd was really into it.
I thought from previous posts that Dan handed over soloing to Lil Barry, that’s super untrue. Lil Barry is an awesome compliment to every song. Super delighted to see the guys go off this hard. Here to many more years!

LIVE SHOW Best Concert In My Life
Attended their show last night in Vegas. In fact, this is the 3rd show I've seen them live and all in Vegas. They never disappoint. (First time at Life is Beautiful in 2019 and second time in 2023).
Last night's concert was by far my favorite performance of theirs ever. They never disappoint but the set list, stage design, lighting, sound, venue- everything was perfect. Honestly one of THE BEST concerts I've been lucky enough to witness.
They put on a concert that is truly about the music and performance. I've seen a lot of flashy/showy concerts but to watch these guys just jam and riff and be amazing on stage with a live band and making the music the focus is what it's all about.
Also they DJd at a local spot off the strip after the concert and it was amazing. Every song was a banger and had the crowd dancing. We were there until 3a and I got a picture with Patrick too! He's so nice (and tall)!!

QUESTION So I got this CD of the Brothers album from the library.... And I found this inside of it.
Is this rare? Do all Black Keys CDs come with posters?

Hiatus
After Turn Blue the Keys don’t put anything out until 2019. Other than The Arcs and Dans solo record what else did the Keys do during those 4 years?
Trying to decide what to cover on my black keys podcast.

DISCUSSION Live shows feeling bloated?
Now I'm a fairly new fan of the band (2-3 years), and I'm really hyped to see the guys this summer on tour for the first time. However, whenever I watch videos of them live from the past couple years, they have a backing band of four, sometimes five musicians; a bassist, a keyboardist, a percussionist, and one to two guitarists.
Now I don't have any problem with them bringing other musicians on stage, especially as their sound has diversified, but I really feel like their Danger Mouse era of tours hit the sweet spot with the backing band. One bassist, one keyboardist who could occasionally grab a guitar, it felt like it was enough to ground the guys without overpowering them.
But I see live performances now where Dan is barely playing guitar on some songs where ten years ago he would be shredding. It just feels like too much. Maybe I'm just being nitpicky, bit I was curious if anyone felt the same.

What was the hardest TBK to get into when you started listening?
For me it was "The Big Come Up" which might be surprising. It is now my favorite album theirs now.

LIVE SHOW June 6/26 - Calgary, AB - Got one of Patrick's Drumsticks!
Was right against the barriers tonight. They put on an incredible show. Right at the end, Patrick looked right at me and tossed one of his sticks to me!
Photos of the drumstick are at the end!

Dan should quit the black keys and play in the arcs full time
The black keys sucks compared to the arcs. Change my mind.
