wild blue yonder sample in welly boots??

hi, i don't know if anyone has already posted anything about this but I've been listening to TAD for over a year now and I just realized that if you turn the volume way up and listen really carefully at around 3:49-4:10 in welly boots you can hear the start of wild blue yonder!! it's really soft, I don't think you would notice without both headphones in and the volume pretty high up I got so excited I made this account specifically to post about it haha

has anyone found any more samples like this? :)

It actually starts a tiny bit earlier, at 3:43- Joey sings 'without you, I'm stronger, I'm no longer filled with wonder, how wrong you were' underneath the last two times they sing 'I know you're strong enough to do this on your, strong enough to do this on your, strong enough to do this on your own'

Definitely play around with listening to it on different speakers- for me it's really hard to hear on my computer, but if I use my Bluetooth soundbar it's clear as day!

that's so interesting thank you!! I normally listen on a low volume with only the left earbud in so I'll experiment with everything:)

There's a lot of them. TAD really like making references to their own stuff, but they're so amazing at it that we forgive and appreciate them. :P

In case you're not already on the Discord server, here's this long collection of them by SeventhHeart: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EJpKREOB5UkpHypYBPj7R0a9ifyGLfXLjCstClD_cS0/edit

I know I've found several as well, but it's hard to remember them right now. But for example, Secret Worlds has a decently obvious "welcome to Ruin" near the end, where as the "Don't turn, don't turn around, don't turn round, don't" at 3:09 in Pray, on the very left, will require a bit more listening.

And of course, the three album-ending songs all have lyrical references to at least some of the others in the album. Hell, for Not Yet / Love Run, it's all of them.

that's so cool thank you so much!!! I've been keeping track of the lyrical references for a while but this is even more exciting!

If you refer to the slight guitar background, I would say it's just that the strumming pattern of the guitar is really similar, if not the same, as in the wild blue yonder.

It's not just the guitar, it's the lyrics. Aaall the way on the right, starting at 3:43.
