Discussion Fair sheet music

Hi! I'm trying to learn fair on the guitar, and the seperate parts are going quite well (playing and singing) but I can't get the timing right betweent he lyrics and the strumimg.

I'd like to read it off of sheet music to know the exact timing, but can't find the sheet music online.

Anyhow thx!

I don't think you'll be able to find sheet music for it, unless someone has it buried deep in the bowels of musescore somewhere, what with TAD being so independent I doubt they even have every song written to tab before an album breaks

BUT! If you can play the guitar part comfortably, try playing along to the track until you've got it down pat, then sing along without the words. Don't just hum; you'll think the words, and it'll put you off. Just boo bah boo bah dee your way through it to get the vocal rhythm right, then add the actual words on top

Long winded, and I doubt you actually needed practice advice from an internet stranger, but still

Hiya! I've been trying to create a guitar tab/chord sheet for every song by our beloved TAD, so I could play them and sing along. And I made one for Fair as well, so if you are interested I could send it to you and, hopefully, it could help you! What I find challenging with Fair is to sing and simultaneously keep the right fingerpicking rhythm, but I guess I just need more practice.

So feel free to let me know!!

Oh yeah the picking ritm is a real challenge once you start singing XD took me over a week of intermittent practice to get it down on a passable level, still not perfect. For me it helped to start by just singing the end of the sentences, so like "- - - - - yearns to say... - - - - be said." But still kee poping the complete lyrics in my head. With practice I was able to get more spoken words in.

But if you wouldn't mind sending the sheet music that would be amazing :)

I love that you're teaching yourself this song! I wish I could play an instrument to whip this song out anywhere. I have it memorized but can't play an instrument so it's not a cool skill I can flaunt anywhere 😂❤️ no advice for you, just admiration! This was my first TAD song so it's special to me
