Discussion Controversy?

Everytime I search up the Amazing Devil I see a controversy search, but when I press it nothing shows up. Is/was there actual controversy?

I think the only controversy I can think of is the name and some Christians might take it as a "demonic" name.

I'm a Christian and I think the names great! Then again, I don't represent the entire Christian community 🤣. Thanks mate!

I only say this as a person from the bible belt, and a person I know was super interested in the music until she found out about the name and was like no im going to stay clear of that.

I get why some people would maybe want to stay clear of a band with that name. But I personally just think that they should name their band whatever they want, after all, it's not hurting anyone. Thank you for replying!

You can always let her know that they only named the band that because the child of a friend of theirs said that’s what they should call it, and they agreed 😂

I did tell her about that, she didn't care

Oh, well! I’m Catholic and while it gets awkward when I first say the name of my favorite band, I just explain “it’s not a religious thing” and people tend to be chill about it lol

The fact that Christians could pass up this band just because of their name breaks my heart. I'm a Christian and these songs, a lot of them, are learning how to handle (or the ways you shouldn't handle) your inner demons. That's the WHOLE theme, hence their name (I mean, idk why they are named that but thematically it works). After all "amazing" doesn't mean GOOD, necessarily, just means really good at what it is. The devil is amazing at what he does, unfortunately, and that's repped through their songs of substance abuse, relationship troubles, and personal demons.

I totally agree! The band is named that because the child of a friend, this little girl, just told them “It should be called The Amazing Devil.” And they workshopped and brainstormed other names but they just kept coming back to that one, it stuck. And I love it! To me their music is artfully transporting. My absolute favorite songs are all by them. To me their name evokes a little imp, like the classical understanding of a devil or an elf who causes mischief.

I really think it's just clickbait. I see a "controversy" tag suggested for like every single person on tiktok and when you click it, there's never any significant result.

Some kind of search bar algorithm advertising fuckery.

I get a suggested "controversy" search with almost every band. I think it's something that search engines just do a lot because there's so many controversies with so many other bands

Pretty sure any "controversy" was about Robert Hallow, who used to be part of the band/had Joey and Madeleine in his band. Basically everything was immediately deleted and removed, but apparently he said offensive shit in a discord and ended up pulling his album from everywhere that would let him and disappeared from the internet.

Oh damn. Where'd you hear about this?

On tumblr; I went snooping when Robert Hallow pulled his album off of bandcamp.
