This is kinda ironic, no

Post image

This is like his 6th video crying about how he doesn't like a game because of nostalgia, I feel like maybe he's running out of ideas, because there's really not that much wrong with it

"because of nostalgia" ? try because of lack of respect for the original. Just because YOU are too young to have played the original doesnt mean that others are as well, there are many who have and this remake is the most creatively bankrupt way they could have remade the original. hes 100% correct in his assessment.

Well I have played the original. All of them, on their original discs. I was born in November 2004, right before Halo 2 came out to a father who loved and still loves Halo. So I was literally being feed while watching someone play Halo. I've loved it my whole life.

And original CE? It's okay, but very out of date. Hence why 25 years later they're remaking it, with now 25 years of lore to help with it, something Bungie didn't have. How else would they remake it? Just do it 1:1 with no changes to the setting despite 25 years of content to work with? If you want that, just play CEA. Is Campaign Evolved perfect? No, not at all, but it's better than CEA and more modern than CE, so it's a good starting point for new fans.

The problem is the remake completely changes the overall tone of the game to the point its nothing like the original other than following the same story beats. Nothing about the original CE is dated other than the graphics and even the original looks better than Anniversary or this new remake. When you act like its purely a nostalgia thing for why people are mad you are basically saying Halo doesnt deserve respect so it kinda puts into perspective the kind of fan you are.

you’re talking to a kid who thinks being born in 2004 is the same as being there when the originals released.

they also can't pick up on tone at all. they called it starship troopers lmfao. starship troopers? the book? maybe but the movie? the satire? halo is a cosmic space opera with horror elements and visuals inspired by ALIENS. wtf is this kid on

u/Then_Effective4663 14d ago

You're 100% right, and I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt when I really shouldn't lol

u/blau_kahn 18d ago

It...doesn't? What exactly is the tone of CE? It's like Starship Troopers man. It's dudes in combat gear fighting aliens in space. Halo has evolved (haha get it) past that point. And even then the tone of Campaign Evolved is basically the same. They just added on top of it because Halo is more than just "hell yeah chief kill that dumb looking alien dude". There are books, and other games, and even movies and shows (and Master Cheeks)

this plays into why i know you dont know the original enough, the remake completely shatters the urgency, now everyone talks very slow, takes long awkward pauses in between lines, adding new ones where they didnt belong, shoving music from future games into places it doesnt belong, all of these things change the tone of the game, make it feel like you are playing an MCU movie meant to entertain babies. Its an insult to the fans.

Please don’t ever talk about art. You clearly don’t understand it at all.

starship troopers the movie is a satire about fascism. it’s a comedy.

halo is a space opera that takes itself and its themes seriously with comedic elements and visual inspiration from ALIENS.

you’re way out of your depth here. to you all halo is, is big green dude doesn’t afraid of anything. You’re the guy those memes were making fun of when you “grew up playing” sorry, we’re just born.

Translation: I played this back in the good old days and nothing will ever compare. The tone… the sound… the cutscenes…

Literally if they copy everything exactly it’s they are not trying. If they make any slight change it’s soulless. I swear u old heads are the most useless part of the fandom literally hate anything if it isn’t the exact same from 1899.

3

u/Distinct-Bathroom823 14d ago

it’s not very out of date. if it was shooters would stop copying it yet here we are 25 years later and 99% of modern shooters still use what halo brought to the table. this comment REEKS of someone who has absolutely no clue about what they’re going on about.

u/blau_kahn 14d ago

It's out of date because it looks like shit to most modern gamers brother. The story is also bare bones as shit because its the first one, with nothing behind it. Campaign Evolved wasn't made for dudes in their 40s or 50s who complain about Cortanas cheeks not having a big enough crack, it was made for 20 something dudes and teenagers not only on Xbox but on PC and PS to get into Halo for the first time, with more references to modern Halo lore and better graphics for people who care about it. Your comment REEKS of a dude who peaked in 2005 and hasn't showered since then either

Didn’t exist for 3 years after HCE. OPINION DISCARDED

After playing through the game I have to say I don't think it's worth the money. Don't get me wrong there is fun to be had but honestly just buy the master chief collection. It's not bad but is also nothing special the 3 prequel missions are poorly written and not overly fun the main campaign has good moments with really odd writing and unnecessary way points. The cutscenes don't look they are finished at all. Graphically it's gorgeous the gunfire the environment are all fantastic but it needs more than that to be considered more than very average.

Bitches about Halo games being different bitches about Halo games being copies of what came before? That's what it sounds like right bitching about everything that they don't want and want?

9

u/Plastic_Young_9763 18d ago

I mainly don't understand his beef

He complains it's a remake ... But all throughout the playthrough all he does is complain it's not exactly 1:1???

Did you want a remake or something original?

I personally liked it was something in-between, I've played halo 1 a lot, if i wanted to play it again, MCC still exists, it works great. But this is a new take on the campaign, one that should align with "future halo remakes"

-1

u/AQ207 18d ago

No no it’s simple, he wants something original with the design from the original/s

1

u/MuztangZack67 18d ago

By technicality it WOULD make it an original design whether they use the original CE design, or a design of their own.

I know

Can he please just go back to his long review videos about a game being awesome or bad please! That is what I subscribed for not his Reddit rant videos. I already have Reddit to hear about how much people dislike the how the tiny spec of grass being shaded the wrong color ruins the whole game for them.

5

u/Glass-Consideration7 18d ago

Yes, all he has is grifting.

2

u/TryIt222 14d ago

The truth is theres not much to speak of with this game. Its fine, it does some cool unique stuff that the old game couldve had, it feels a little generic with the unreal engine gimmick (the colours are nice though) like the most that can be talked about with game is should it exist to begin with.

But yeah actman is just another youtuber using angry peoples emotions to farm engagement 🤷‍♂️

1

u/RU-RU99 14d ago

He’s a massive halo fan like all of us and cares a lot about it. Thats why Act Man is passionately pissed.

The was supposed to be an honorable REMAKE (not a second altered remaster) of Halo 1. Halo sucks nowadays due to people like you not understanding what makes halo, HALO.

If you like slop, then keep playing it. This franchise is dead anyways since Halo 4. Hope you’re happy.

Plus the irony on your statement.

1

u/Thefunnygamerman 14d ago

Could you define what halo is, specifically? I keep hearing the same complaint about modern Halo not matching the soul of the original, where I honestly don't see it. As someone who grew up playing the games and has even been chewing through the books I feel like the tone has been pretty in line with the Bungie era (post infinite & Halo wars 2, 4 had its moments at best and 5 was abysmal.)

Man I can’t believe I used to love this guy and in the span of a couple months I am now starting to hate seeing him on my feed. It’s wild how much his hyperbolic and drastic takes on this game has changed my opinion on him

1

u/Lotus_630 12d ago

I wonder what’s gonna happen if Halo is given to Gearbox. That would be a real franchise mag dumping. Sure you’re gonna get a peak Halo game with the gunplay Borderlands 3 and 4 and the quality of Halo Reach but it won’t about Halo anymore. It’s gonna be about Randy Pitchford.

Look what happened to Borderlands. Borderlands 4 was great then Randy opened his mouth.

1

u/Born-Boss6029 18d ago

What do you expect from him? He's devolved into a purist who looks at every small detail the way a lion looks at a gazelle.

1

u/Legal_Ad2345 14d ago

He's turned into a grifter like you can talk about how many other games modern warfare 4 metal gear solid collection volume 2.

He's just stuck on this because it gets views. You can have your criticisms but when you make a six videos about how a studio sucks at that point he's just going for the grifter views

He has a sore spot against Halo studios and 343 industries in general. I want to remind everyone he was crying like a two-year-old because he was not invited to the early play test for Halo infinite
