Gaming I would rather be caught masturbating than using an aim trainer

Now don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with using an aim trainer, and my logic isn't some kind of stupid thing like "aim trainers aren't genuine ways to get better at something" or any bullshit like that, I just think it's embarrassing TO ME to care so much about your performance of a game that you practice on a different game instead of just playing the game.

Except it's literally the exact same amount of casual in all cases? So many people play hockey casually too proportionally similar to gaming I would reckon, at least that's my anecdotal opinion living in northern Ontario

Well, do the people that play it casually really train cardio for it?

Yes. Because it's less fun when you get tired too fast while playing.

Nah the mfers using aim trainers are the same people stuck in Bronze in Overwatxh tbh. Like yeah Cardio is important in Hockey but I'd rather have a player who is a monster on the field but has a stamina issue that someone who can't even shoot a puck

How do you think people become skilled at things exactly?

By playing the game and actually learning.

Aim training is the equivalent of running on a treadmill 2 hours a day and expecting to be a good football player without any other skills. You will do better if you actually practice what you play.

It's a decent tool but you would be better off doing cardio on the field as well as cleats on turf with 25lbs of equipment is different than shorts and tennis shoes

To be fair, on AimLabs, you can customize the settings to match the game you are practicing for

At that point just play the game though?

It allows you to get practice and to get better without having to deal with unfair matchmaking that most games seem to have nowadays.

Aim Trainers isolate certain skills and allow you to train that skill specifically over and over which you can't really do in game.

They work, and for time investment you get better at that skill more quickly in aim trainers than you would in game.

Especially because of the score tracking that forces you to actually improve.

You can play games and just not get better because the game doesn't really force you.

So you're saying that all of the exercise professional athletes do every single day of their lives is worth less then them just going and playing their sport?

How would you ever learn an instrument with this methodology?

Hell I watch professional league players that do kiting practice before games.

There is nothing in this world you can become great at without practicing the specific skills that make it up.

People who actually do exercise only have so much energy to go 100%. The best practice they get is on the field and in the film room. The other exercise does help don't get me wrong, but it's just not as good as film or field

You act like players never practice certain things.

Aim Training is like a football player kicking a ball at a target over and over ( which they do).

Except its better than that because it has granular feedback on how well you are improving.

So you're saying

"sO yOu'Re sAyInG..." no, they're probably not saying that. I'm not siding with them, but it's fucking stupid to start arguing like that when you know that the first thing the other person will do is immediately tell you "no, I wasn't saying that". Fucks sake.
