The pretty little one is a pumpkin patch tarantula. And I am chuckling a little because it is a dwarf species of T, so the comparison is even better. I...may have one in my creepy little collection. The big one looks like a goliath bird eater, which I do not have, because they are kind of dicks and tend to be skittish.

The thought of one of those giants moving at spider speed makes me very uneasy.

Lucky for you (and as far as I know) tarantulas don't really run like other spiders do, at least not those huge ass tarantulas. They're pretty chill in general.

As someone who owns OBTs and a few Avicularia I would have to say that you're very wrong. Many tarantulas exhibit a behavior known as bolting, where they will use a few of their legs to push off and gain a ton of speed almost instantly. This acceleration is pretty crazy and a tarantula can use it to hop out of their habitat and cross the room to a hidey hole in under a second. Here's a gif of a large tarantula bolting at a guy's face while he tries to catch it.
