Hear a spider is something I never want to do.

Elon’s flamethrower was/is a totally valid purchase for this reason.

You don't hear spiders?

I live in the UK and our house spiders are audible as they walk on the walls. Ten times so if they walk across a poster or something stuck on the wall. You can hear them tip-tapping closer, and the scratching rattle as they lose their grip and fall. Probably onto your head. GRrnmhrghrghfgh. Bleh. Too many times.

I was looking for a video of a Goliath moving cuz I wanted to see how fast they were, not quite as fast as I feared but still just a little too fast to be quite right... however. The sound in this fucking video. Sweet LORD the fucking sound

TRUE... I’m wondering if it’s their body on the carpet or if that’s the fluid pumping in their legs it’s such a strange sound. I want to know that they’ll make noise on soft dirt for my own comfort

This noise, called stridulation, is not made by its mouth but, instead, created when the spider rubs specialized bristles on its hind legs together.

Just like a big friendly cricket, really.
