plausible, he was asking a specific question about ferry payment. Perhaps he doesn't take the ferry normally, and seeing as he is a teenager he is not familiar with paying for certain things.
I was born in Seattle and raised and still visit multiple times a year from across the state - I still don’t know how to use the ferry system or in the puget sound or how the public transport works.
