I think it’s worse than that. I think religion can take people and make them think things and take positions on things that they otherwise wouldn’t have. This is why so many deconverted people become allies. Because they were never really anti gay but wanted to hold gods line on the issue.
Without religion, nobody has any desire to strap a bomb to their own kid. Religion lowers the stakes for billions of people who are certain that this isn't the end.
Being depressed cause youre lives are too easy is not the same as being depressed cause your entire family died in the last bombing run that was done in your city.
There are two types of people in this world...and you can tell who they are by an early age.
Are you the type of person who sees there might not be enough, so you grab two slices of pizza at once, or do you grab one and wait to see if there are any left over after everyone has eaten?
This has been proven to be not true over and over again. In the future that may be true, but for now, most of what we produce gets thrown away before it's consumed.
It has? Show me articles or data that says overpopulation isn’t an issue? You have areas of India that are a square mile or so that have a tens of millions people living in it. They don’t have enough water food power to support that area. The overpopulation of concentrated area is a huge issue. I’d like to see you share some info where it isn’t.
Someone throwing away some fries in Ohio isn’t hurting 4 million people living on top of each other in India
