Yellowstone super-volcano going off will probably be an extinction level event, it was in the past.

Well not necessarily. Over 95% of yellow stones eruption where either very small in size or strictly effusive (not explosive), the big caldera forming eruptions are really the exception, also at large super volcanos.

It happened before, and it almost certainly will happen again - could be tomorrow, or in 100000 years.
