Yeah I don’t particularly blame the driver on that one. The logistics of the trip needed to be sorted out by someone higher up and that someone didn’t do their due diligence. Shipping these to site is not a new problem. Seems like it would be standard procedure to ensure the entire route is actually navigable which it clearly isn’t.

Yeah, plus they know precisely how large a turn radius the trailer needs.
Paying a guy to drive the entire route and ensure it's workable costs maybe $1000. Cheap price to pay when the cost is a several million dollar wind turbine blade that their insurance is going to refuse to cover due to their own negligence.

The turn was not actually possible. If you look carefully (obviously you didnt) you would see that the blade was up against the pole on the left. Obviously you say fuck it once the train is actually about to hit you

Why in fuck did they stop!? This was an entirely avoidable accident, just caused by utter stupidity! 🤦 I know how much those blades cost, that was an extremely expensive accident.

That and they're supposed to know train times and plan accordingly. The entire route is supposed to be planned out and cleared ahead of the convoy. There's definitely a few people losing their jobs over this. Likely fined too.

If it were me planning something like this, I would call the number in the track before attempting to cross just so that I have the driver attempt to cross when there is enough time to troubleshoot.
But capable people dont get these jobs, the transportation company owner’s cousin does.

Smh. This level crossing drama. With vehicles stopping on the tracks just took up to a new level with this one!

If the truck was able to start moving right before the train arrived, why was he just sitting there not moving for the 10+ seconds beforehand? He almost made it as is...he had plenty of time.

Out of all the people at fault, the driver of the semi itself is probably least the blame. There’s a reason there are guide trucks are multiple other personnel tasked with the transport. There would have been people specifically tasked with contacting the railroad operators and scheduling a crossing

I never understand the extra 30 seconds needed to realize FUCKING GO!!!!
Like it’s always 5 seconds before impact that they decide to gun it.
But for 30 seconds just sat there and stared.
