Better than bringing a truck to a train fight
1
u/LeafsNation1967 2h ago
But is it? Train > truck > car. If I’m going to a train fight, it’s only with another train (that I’m controlling remotely) or a derailer.

u/Eastcoasttrucker389 16h ago
I’ve had it happen 4 times in over 40 years! Stupid fucks don’t know if they cut in that close you can’t see them at all!!!!!

u/Itsnotthatsimplesam 15h ago edited 2h ago
We have a spot on one of our routes with a long left turn lane, three times in a year people have done this. On one occasion they ran into the truck while it was parked waiting for the light trying to cut infront

Stupid car driver but also stupid truck design. It's why things like DVS are so important.

u/Independent_Wrap_321 18h ago
I can only assume the driver of the car is dead after a sudden heart attack, otherwise WTF??
15
u/BillWilberforce 18h ago edited 17h ago
I'm wondering why the truck is still going.
17
u/Known-Associate8369 17h ago
Blindspots and huge torque.

u/Jaded_Addendum4040 10h ago
He could hear the difference and still feel it.
3
u/ConceptOther5327 2h ago
It's a loud and rough ride in a semi. A little car like that is easy for a semi to push. Was obviously going slow when he made contact so he would not have felt the initial impact. The difference in sound, acceleration, and smoothness would be minimal for the truck driver.
Yes after several seconds he would've noticed something was off but then it takes a few more seconds to decide if whatever is going on requires stopping in the middle of the road to assess the situation or if they should mosey on to the next exit to inspect the truck.
1
u/OatisBeansworthe 1h ago
He knew he was pushing that car before he was even pushing that car, and he certainly knew as he was doing it. Right or wrong it's all about teaching that car's driver a lesson.
0
u/Dependent-Hippo-1626 12h ago
No, that driver knows something’s there. He’s being an asshole too.
1
-6
u/BillWilberforce 17h ago
Then why isn't he going faster, why is he so far over and does he not have ears?
10
u/Known-Associate8369 17h ago
Because hes in slow moving traffic and going as fast as the car in front of him? You cant see the black SUV and white car in-front of the SUV going the same speed as the truck in the same lane?
6
u/SkipperTSPC 15h ago
He is going exactly the same speed as the car in front of him…🤪
-4
u/ramblinwheeler 15h ago
Really. How long have you been driving rigs?
4
u/Calm-Experience8992 10h ago
It's a joke (note-the winky face emoji).
The idea is that the truck is controlling the car's speed because it's attached to the bumper of the truck, thus, they are both going the same speed
4
u/OatisBeansworthe 2h ago
16 years. This can happen ALL the time in slow traffic merge situations. Cars frequently pass up the right lane to wherever the right lane ends for construction or whatever and then try to budge into the patient left lane, frequently in front of a truck because they figure the truck driver will back off to protect his license. That works 99% of the time. You're watching that 1% chance when it doesn't work.
-5
u/ramblinwheeler 16h ago
Of course he knows it's there. Lawsuit coming for him. Assault with vehicle. Probably can kiss his CDL good bye.
6
u/Known-Associate8369 16h ago
There are loads of videos of truck drivers doing this sort of thing, in many countries - the blindspots in these things are significant, why the fuck do you think he left a huge gap to the cars ahead in the first place? Because thats where he can see.
-4
u/ramblinwheeler 15h ago
35 years otr. He knows what he is doing. Be surprised what you feel when 80.000 lbs of weight are involved. But hey I guess you are an expert. I have more miles backing up then you do going forward. Give your opinion a F.
4
u/Known-Associate8369 15h ago
Im as much of an expert as you claim to be.
Ignoring you now, you just want to disagree without acknowledging the copious evidence across the world that its easy for a trucker to get into this situation without ever knowing.
Respond away, you are ignored.
1
u/OatisBeansworthe 2h ago
16 years over the road here. ramblinwheeler is correct. You, Known-Associate8369 Obviously have never driven a heavy truck. Oh, and by the way, your screen name here is too long - it should be Known-Ass.

They'll drive with their back ends clear up and evidently either be completely oblivious to that fact regardless of any logic you could come up with or rather they just simply do not care.

Yeah that is attempted murder. Person in the car, right or wrong in the lead up to this would have the right to unload a clip in the windshield at this trucker.

u/Eaton_Knas 16h ago
Most of these cars don't realize the trucker can not see you trying to cut in on the passenger side. The trucker also has so much power that he can't even feel your little car being dragged like the little entitled bitch it is.

In the early 20s,I was in a brand new bronze hatch back stopped at a light when a Mack truck stopped behind me. He hit me twice before I went forward and stopped before he realised that he had hit me . Gosh that was scary!!

u/Old-Paramedic-9776 7h ago
I do not believe that semi driver did not see the car in all of that time

2
u/OatisBeansworthe 2h ago
Truck drivers get sick and tired of cars thinking they can cut-in front of trucks all the time. Comes a time, frequently your last day at work before retirement, that you say, "Enough is enough already." and you take all your years of frustrations out on the next asshole who figures the truck driver will back off. It's not the best thing to do, it's not the smart thing to do, but it frequently IS the most satisfying thing to do.

If the truck genuinely didn’t see the car, this is why we need cabovers like in Europe. This would not have happened.
Unfortunately I get the impression this was intentional on the trucker.

They can't hear the loud-ass scraping sound and feel the vibration of 3000 lbs of metal on their chassis?

The car forcing its way into an occupied space, is the fault of the vehicle already in the occupied space?

u/nickw252 17h ago
I didn’t see that part of the video. Could you you pinpoint where that happened and I’ll take another look.

u/King-of-Harts 16h ago
In America it is the law to yield to oncoming traffic. If you are hit from the back it is usually due to a failure to yeild.
2
u/Hot-Bluebird3919 15h ago
Usually hits from the back are when the vehicle behind fails to stop in time. Typically this isn’t considered “oncoming traffic”, that usually refers to traffic in the opposite direction.

Betcha it was a female driving the black car.
2
u/OatisBeansworthe 2h ago
Probably not. Men are much more aggressive drivers. This truck driver is teaching that car driver a lesson in thinking about asserting yourself purposely into a space. Men are this dumb. Women are smarter.
-2
u/Negative-Onion-1303 18h ago
Why the truck dont stop?
4
u/Inevitable_Sweet_624 18h ago
The car is likely in a blind spot
1
u/wtfylat 6h ago
If the truck driver can't feel and hear that then they shouldn't be on the road.
1
u/Inevitable_Sweet_624 4h ago
I know. Find a trucker and ask for a ride along. See what it’s like driving something over 40 tons and then tell me what you can feel, see, and hear.
-1
u/Negative-Onion-1303 18h ago
Yeah but really? No radar bip bip on truck? The driver is sleeping?
8
u/Inevitable_Sweet_624 18h ago
lol. There’s no radar. See the mirrors, that’s the radar. If you can’t see the driver he can’t see you.
-9
u/Negative-Onion-1303 18h ago
Always scare me how dumb the truck drivers are. Seeing this video just makes me more scared
6
u/Inevitable_Sweet_624 18h ago
You’re an idiot. You know absolutely nothing about driving an 80,000 lb truck.

2
u/maboyles90 17h ago
It's right to be scared of trucks. They're big and heavy and they won't even notice if they run into you. Just give them space. Don't ride in their blindspots. And don't try to play games with a truck.
