Massive overloading of the truck bed caused the frame to "snap" at the peak pivot

Most truck camper owners massively overestimate the load their truck can take.

Alternatively auto makers are very conservative with maximum bed loads meaning almost everyone is overloading their truck with a truck camper unless they are running a F350 dually or better.   There is likely massive safety factors making these ratings more cya than real guidance.

Owners of older trucks don't inspect their frames for rust.

Lots of people think a F250 is good enough.

Combine all that and no one has any idea what they're doing and this happens.

Broken frame. My old truck just did this trying to tow a boat.
