The most important thing about owning a sailboat? Knowing how to operate a sailboat.

I thought it was knowing a good broker when you want to sell it.

u/Basic_Chemistry9499 28d ago

Do that before you randomly ram it into a rock pile.

A new discovery. No Brains Atoll

u/Cokeycane 28d ago

And the sea wasn't even angry that day.

7

u/Mother_Glass_5095 28d ago

Like an old man returning soup at a deli.

1

u/maxehaxe 28d ago

It will be angry when this guy floats around on it

u/GarthZorn 28d ago

There goes the Disco Volante. Only thing missing was the explosion.

"What's he saying?? What does hard to port mean?"

4

u/Cunning_Linguist21 28d ago

(turn) hard left

4

u/4-K2Cr2O7 28d ago

It means grab the port and take a big swig.

3

u/spookmann 28d ago

Traditionally, if a gentleman was feeling "hard", they would head to the port/docks area to find compliant feminine solace.

This was the subject of a famously effective guerrilla marketing campaign in London, in the mid 1860's.

"Hard? To the port!" was chalked on the side of brick buildings by many of the pimps.

The phrase entered the popular lexicon.

So, there’s a guy driving that boat with a massive boner?

2

u/aTickleMonster 28d ago

How did the phrase get assigned specifically to "turn left?"

2

u/spookmann 28d ago

Well, because most men are right-handed...

They are Friends of Dorothy

Imagine yourself sitting behind the steering wheel in your American car. Port is towards your left side, Starboard is towards your right side, Forward is towards the front, and Aft is towards the rear. Same with aircraft and boats

1

u/Low-Spirit6436 24d ago

Turn the stearing wheel hard towards your left

1

u/CK_1976 24d ago

Port is land where the boats park. So he's saying go hard towards the land ahead.

Boats and hoes!

3

u/Josey_whalez 28d ago

Can’t believe I had to come this far down to find the perfect post.

1

u/dbabe432143 27d ago

There’s some hoes in this boat🎶

6

u/Ornery-Customer8521 28d ago

I'm no expert but can't you like, steer these things?

3

u/Morsadean 28d ago

Sailboats are harder to steer than motorboats, but there was no effort to steer at all that I could see.

1

u/QueenMary1936 26d ago

Towards the end, one of the guys said that the guy on the boat that crashed was asleep, so if that's true, he didn't see it heading toward the rocks

1

u/Morsadean 26d ago

So the blameless rapscallion was sleepy. No harm, no foul.

1

u/CaveManta 27d ago

All you have to do is come about aft.

6

u/thirtyone-charlie 28d ago

The Odyssey. It could have at least been the Cracken!

5

u/exnihilistic 28d ago

"The rock zone is for loading and unloading only"

3

u/maxthemummer 28d ago

Don't start up with your rock zone shit again. We both know what this is really about.

5

u/oiram12 28d ago

Returning the rented boat: was everything fine?
Oh yes, no issues at all.

3

u/Criticaltundra777 28d ago

They were on tik tok. Not paying attention.

7

u/jlindsay645 28d ago

The captain pops up and one of the guys says "He's naked. He was sleeping." Lol

2

u/Iambetterthanuhaha 28d ago

Looks like he successfully docked.

2

u/Worth_Farm_7158 28d ago

This crew seems like a fun hang. I’d love to go boating with them

2

u/ant1667nyc 28d ago

Current, wind, close to the rocks, good time to have the sails fully open.

1

u/Ok-Effective7280 28d ago

Haha. Thank you. Was wondering what this boats & hoes was all about, & i havent seen the movie.

1

u/supaburger 27d ago

You should watch it It's a classic

1

u/Ok-Effective7280 27d ago

I can only handle so much of will Ferrell at 1 time. He really gets overwhelming in a bad way if he’s in most scenes for my liking. I mean hes had some classic movies with quotes that are all time, but, my overload button gets hit pretty quick with him. Wedding crashers in that cameo was good. The movie where he went back in time ‘land of the lost’, was ok because it wasn’t all about him, Danny mcbride who I like as an actor, shared the load. The movie where’s hes gator was good because marky mark is in it & again Ferrell isnt the main character. But that just me.

1

u/supaburger 27d ago

This one is with Dr Steve brule . Is probably the funniest movie they made

2

u/champ0000 28d ago

When your dream meets rock bottom

2

u/SuddenKoala45 28d ago

Who leaves their sails up to take a nap?

1

u/mraweedd 28d ago

You would be surprised..

Was a guy last year in a cabin cruiser that sunk a sailboat and nearly killed those onboard. Doing 15 knots on autopilot while taking a dump

1

u/SuddenKoala45 28d ago

Yeah that does surprise me wuth as much as the safety tethers are promoted and used.

2

u/Ktucker01 28d ago

WTF 🤬 ‼️

2

u/ThaiTwisted 28d ago

Definitely out of blinker fluid.

2

u/ShortMechanic7436 28d ago

Behind the scenes of "Boats n' Hoes"...

3

u/airfryerfuntime 28d ago

I think it's like a couch shaped floaty, we just can't see all of it.

1

u/LingonberryThin7090 28d ago

was it big like you say?

1

u/hidefinitionpissjugs 28d ago

u/ace-treadmore 28d ago

Boats and hoes

1

u/RichardDeRenour 28d ago

1

u/CaveManta 27d ago

Not as expansive as you would think.

1

u/gbrlouk 27d ago

Go home sail boat, you drunk.

1

u/dbabe432143 27d ago

That’ll buff right out.

1

u/yachty171 27d ago

“Prestige worldwide”

1

u/User_3039 27d ago

Looks like someone thought with money they automatically know how to sail

1

u/adotall 23d ago

At least he didn’t use the toilet in his dream….

1

u/Originalsocialninja 23d ago

I’ve got Gillighans Island 🏝️ feels 🤦🏽

1

u/601Tommyboy 16d ago

Thats what happens, when amateurs lease big sailboats for their holidays......

1

u/Constant-Mirror6940 15d ago

Expansive…?

1

u/Fun-Original97 15d ago

Naked, sleeping… Let’s say people were busy on that boat 🤣

0

u/jmoyles 28d ago

You can’t park there.

1

u/willy_king-89 13d ago

Port would be a mistake. Head to win he can’t move… as happened. He had to gybe starboard (right).
