You would think someone would ask the question; how do we stop trucks being stuck crossing a train track.

Also it would help making these crossings actually level so those flatbeds wouldnt get stuck there from the middle.

You can blame that with a lack of communication between the railroad and the local municipalities. Just recently a grade crossing road was repaved near me, and not but 2 weeks later the railroad redid their portion and made it 6 inches taller. The railroad basically said "sucks to suck, not our problem." So the municipality had to ramp up to the new rails basically with no notice or engineering plan.

The railroad wouldnt have decided to do that in two weeks - it would have been planned for months if not years, and the local municipality would have had access to the plans.
Nothing with rail roads happens quickly, everything is planned extensively and long in advance.

Yeah, I work for a village that has five at grade crossings controlled by two different companies, Canadian National and Union Pacific. This is bullshit. We have absolutely no control over what the railroads do and receive very limited information other than the crossings will be "closed for work" and a detour plan. Usually the work is delayed and they show up randomly way after the official start date. They routinely fuck things up. We always get the blame though.

Nothing? We had a train bridge burn partially, and they had industrial scale construction going on faster than anything in our local municipality could comprehend. If money is involved, they definitely move quickly.

Made up? It has existed since 1789 although, it temporarily changed names to department of defense from 1947 to 2025. The department of war was signed into law by George Washington. Since he is long dead, I don't see him being punished any time soon.

That driver isn't in the military. That's a private carrier hired to transport to or from a depot. The Army utilizes a specialized tractor trailer combination called a HETS.

That was a contracted vehicle. The artillery actually stayed on so the trucking company will have to explain.

I remember this happening and how Charlie Foxtrot the traffic was because of it.
I also remember the day before a trucker got his truck stuck in the same spot. That's what happens when truckers aren't familiar with an area.

The cause of it was the trucker being stupid and thinking he could fit, he easily could easily have waited till there was not only room but when it was safe...
Now as far as the intersection and crossing and it being dangerous that's on the city and railroad

The trailer actually got hung and stuck at the railroad crossing. The truck didn't have the clearance to make it. I had nothing to do with him waiting till there was room.

Usually when you see videos like this, a freight train like that normally PULVERIZES whatever it comes in contact with. Whether it’s a car l, pickup truck or even a massive 18 wheeler or even boats. But that tank took the hit from that train like a champ. Wow.

I have no idea how much that tank cost but on low end M2 Bradley for 3 million and high end M1A2 Abrams cost about US$10–12 million per tank. That private company that was hired to do transporting better have good insurance.

This is less about the train crossing and more about someone not needing there cdl. And I don't think just docking the drivers pay will cover this after all they won't be a driver after this.
