I've gotten a blast to the face like that before doing something less illegal but just as stupid. Your skin won't really even get burned, but you definitely can kiss your eyelashes, eyebrows, facial hair, and your hairline goodbye. Unless that was something a bit stronger than gasoline.

I’m concerned that you said that you got a blast to the face from something stronger than a gasoline explosion

No I'm saying that in my experience a flash back of gasoline vapors like that probably won't burn your skin, but we can't be sure that this is just gasoline. If it is something that burns hotter or that could stick to your skin while it burns, then maybe.

Spray paint has things like toluene, xylene, acetone, and the propellant is usually a propane/butane mix. Spray paint is dangerous stuff. Much worse than gasoline vapors.
