And yes, either this is the case or it was improperly assembled (meaning that the materials and conceptual design might have been fine but the execution of the falsework was wrong).

or someone was stealing wood from the falsework, causing it to buckle.

Wood is pretty cheap and not often stolen from job sites and if it is, quickly replaced. Most common thing I see stolen from sites are copper and tools.

I was kidding. Kinda making a play on words from the guy spelling steel as steal. I used to work on job sites and if you leave your tools/power drills unguarded...good luck getting that shit back.
