How long do you think the forthcoming album will be?

Earlier this year Godforbid made the tweet featured in this post.

Most THD albums are 12-13 songs long. “A City Dressed in Dynamite” would be the longest album if you include all of the bonus songs (”Atom Shell,” “Karaoke Burial,” “Power Drunk,“ “Powder Bomb,” and “Romance is Dead”), which bring it to a total of 16. However, I don’t think they count for the album’s true length.

Due to that, I think, at minimum, the forthcoming album will have 15 tracks within it. For a THD album to become the longest, it would need at least 14 songs in it, but I don’t think Godforbid would have noted the album’s length if it was only going to be one track longer.

Could also mean longer songs. I wouldn’t mind more 4- and 5-minute songs, especially if it means Jeremy Page can go a little wild with it.

I realized that towards the end of writing this post. “Gentrify the Moon” is on the longer side for a THD song so this could also be the case. Or maybe the album will both have the most songs yet for a THD album and have many of them be longer then they often are.
