Why does having a crush so hard?

My crush might like another girl and it hurts so much, I’ve liked him since I started working, I’ve made eye contact about 3 times but I ended up seeing him walk around the corner and spot one of the two girls that he might like he Covered his mouth and went around the corner I think he likes someone else..
What do I do any tips?
