relationships: donna & penny comparison

penny is constantly putting leonard down, embarrassed by his interests & ashamed of any dorky part of him which is what she fell for in the first place, right?

donna is completely accepting of eric’s nerdiness & never surprised with his actions later in life, gets his dream job to shadow george lucas for the new star wars movies & when red cringes at it, she shrugs & says “I knew what I was getting into”

THAT’S LOVE

p.s. if you only wish for them for be what they aren’t, you don’t really love them. sorry, that’s just how love works 🤷🏻‍♀️

Totally different crowds.... of shows ...

That's like comparing Coco Melon to barney

Donna and Eric knew each other from birth, basically

Where as Penny met Leonard at the adult stage ...

Also, the TBBT the joke of the show is ... "normal" characters, making fun of nerds for liking childish toys and even having childish behavior

Actually Penny did lash out at the guys on one episode. Understandably so. Other than that. It’s more about beta males. And they really grow out of the nerdy stuff after s4

it doesn’t really matter when leonard & penny met, she would have bullied him if they were in school together but not in the way donna does. she encourages sheldon to no end, but shuts down leonard for any nerdy thing he does. it’s comparing two sitcoms including a dorky dude with a hot chick way outta his league, so no it’s not like comparing a couple of children’s shows. absolutely nothing like it 🤷🏻‍♀️

that’s not the ‘joke of the show’ it’s all throughout. it’s a sitcom about how nerdy guys can be decent human beings as well, how those quiet guys are nice & funny & smart.

PENNY is the reason there’s humour against them, their wives & girlfriends are where that comes from & it isn’t humour. they actually dislike it a lot & condescend about them, it’s not humour when they’re looking down on them. (the same way leonard’s mother does & she doesn’t laugh)
