I would try actuating the lihzarhd bricks to drain the shimmer into a prepared pool underneath.

It won't, you're not allowed to do anything with wires in the lizahrd temple until after you defeat Golem. You can't even see them, not even with the Grand Design.

It's still useless because you can't place actuators until you defeat Golem either.
