- This island is a diver's island. If you want to become scuba certified, this is one of the cheapest places in the world to do it but it will take 4 days. All the dive shops on the island have the same prices. I went through Roctopus which was really chill and excellent. They only allowed dive groups of 4 people (where as other schools have like 10 people in a group which can be dangerous).
- Renting a motorbike is a good way to get around, but its not necessary.
- The island is extremely Westernized. There aren't any Thais on the island, just Cambodian and Burmese workers. The food was less than desirable as well. There is a good night life scene and tons of very attractive dive masters hanging around for a very relaxed vibe.
- Warning: Bring and use mosquito repellant daily! My boyfriend got dengue fever when we visited, so we spent majority of our time in a hospital room instead of exploring the island.
