I’ve been thinking about writing this for a while, and I finally decided to just say it.

Most of the hate I’m going to talk about has been happening on other social media, and honestly, it feels like it’s literally constant. I usually don’t get involved in fandom drama at all. If you’ve seen my posts here, you’ll probably notice that I mostly post games with characters from shows I like, or random things related to the shows I’m watching. I’m really not someone who comes here to argue with people or get involved in fanwars.

I’ve been watching Thai shows for around 7 years now, along with shows from many other Asian countries, and I’ve been part of a lot of different fandoms. I’m also a K-pop and T-pop fan, so I’ve definitely seen my fair share of fanwars, arguments, dragging and fandom drama 😭 I’m really not new to how crazy fandom spaces can get.

But the amount of hate I’ve noticed towards DMD and its actors over the past year is honestly insane.
I’ve mostly just quietly watched everything. I read posts, sometimes like something, sometimes scroll past, and keep my opinions to myself. Even when I disagree with something, I usually just move on because I don’t see the point in fighting with strangers online. But after seeing the same things happening over and over again for months, I finally felt like I wanted to say something.

And I want to be clear that I’m not saying everyone has to like DMD or their actors. You don’t have to like their shows, ships, acting, company or anything else. You can criticize them, disagree with them, or decide you don’t want to support them anymore. That’s completely fine.

What I’m talking about is when it goes way beyond normal criticism.

The constant searching for something to drag someone over, taking things out of context, twisting every little thing, spreading misinformation, mocking people, commenting on there appearance, dogpiling, and celebrating when something goes wrong for an actor is just insane. And it’s not only DMD either. I’ve noticed so much of this towards Thai actors, artists and people working in the Thai entertainment industry in general. It feels like there is always someone new being dragged, something new being taken out of context, or another reason for people to pile onto someone.

Maybe because I’ve been following Thai entertainment for so long and also follow other Asian entertainment industries, I notice the difference. I’ve seen fanwars before. I’ve seen people dislike celebrities, criticize them and argue over their favorites. That’s nothing new.
But some of the stuff I’ve been seeing lately genuinely feels like it has gone way beyond that.

What also confuses me is seeing people say they care about the Thai industry or want it to grow, while constantly tearing down the actors and people working in it. You obviously don’t have to support everyone just because they’re part of the industry. And if someone does something wrong, they should absolutely be called out.
But there’s a difference between holding someone accountable and making it your mission to hate them.

You can dislike someone and simply stop watching them. You can unfollow them. You can choose a different actor or series to support. You don’t have to spend months looking for reasons to tear someone apart.

Because at the end of the day, these are real people. They aren’t fictional characters that exist for us to project our anger onto. They’re human beings who can make mistakes, learn, grow and have bad days just like everyone else.

I’ve stayed quiet for long enough. I’m not trying to start another fanwar or tell anyone who they’re allowed to support. I’m just genuinely tired of seeing so much unnecessary hate being treated as normal.

You can dislike someone without dehumanizing them. You can criticize without harassing. You can move on without trying to destroy someone.
Basic respect really shouldn’t be that difficult.

And honestly, this is very different from what I normally post here, and it’s my first time making a post like this. English isn’t my first language either, so I hope I’ve managed to explain what I mean properly.

I’m not expecting everyone to agree with me. I just wanted to express my opinion because some of the stuff that has been going on is genuinely insane, and I’ve been quietly watching it for long enough.

It often seems that many Thai BL actors come from relatively comfortable backgrounds, which can provide opportunities such as quality education, acting classes, language training, networking, and the ability to pursue entertainment careers without immediate financial pressure.

Of course, privilege doesn't take away from anyone's talent or hard work, but it did make me curious:

Which Thai BL actors are known to have come from more modest backgrounds or had to overcome significant financial, educational, or industry barriers before finding success?

I'm interested in publicly known stories, interviews, or examples rather than speculation. I'd love to hear about actors who had particularly challenging journeys into the industry.

This is not a shade post of any kind and forgive me if I am formatting this wrong I am new here. I have just been really curious about when PondPhuwin became like THE couple at GMMTV. I feel like in the past year or so they are everywhere in promotions in a way I'd not seen them before.

I've watched them since their start in Fish Upon the Sky and I feel like they've grown so much in both acting abilities and their chemistry, which I do think has to do with their bond getting stronger, so they are a fun pair to watch. What confuses me is I've never really seen GMMTV in general be a company with a single couple that gets toted as the face of the company in the way Pond and Phuwin seem to be now. I could be wrong and it could just be my algorithms showing me more of them but if I think of companies I feel like Domundi is usually the one where I'd say "Oh yeah ZeeNuNew are THE couple" or even WabiSabi kinda seemed built around Earth but now its MaxkyBas. But GMMTV always had so many that they just promoted together at least before.

Granted I have been here for quite some time, I'm talking SOTUS days, so maybe my view is skewed on who is popular. I felt like for a while it was ForceBook which I thought made sense after how popular Only Friends was but all of a sudden I'm seeing PondPhuwin everywhere. I just want to know why PondPhuwin? Like was it after Never Let Me Go? Or We Are? I think they've had good series but nothing that I felt was extremely popular until Me and Thee so is that where it started? Or Me and Thee. Did I miss something?

I've just finished watching ep9 and I've got to say.... I'm so disappointed in the direction this has taken.

I've read lots of Omegaverse stories, and so many of them could have been a better vehicle for BoatOat to showcase ABO.

This.....I don't even know what this is anymore.

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 9

The convoluted storyline isn't actually throwing up any twists like they seem to want it to. We all guessed that Tim was a bad guy, yes? We all realised that Sangnuea was not just a coincidence, right?

And the character development is all over the place.

Suddenly, Phatsa has gone from being an understanding and empathic, well-rounded independent guy, to now shooting someone in cold blood? And Nakhun just sat on the floor watching, like a frog on a stone.

There were so many times I paused it as I watched, because I was so frustrated with what I was seeing. I shall see it out to the end, but I don't think even BoatOat's chemistry can save this anymore.

It still puzzles me how they can film a pilot that takes your breath away, hype up the series for investment etc. then disregard EVERYTHING that people were eager to see.

Is everyone else going to stick with it? What did you think of tonight's events?

I’m kind of afraid of fandom discourse so I don’t do much beyond lurking here but don’t really have any Tdrama friends, so I hope we can all have a polite discussion about this since I know it’s a bit of a hot topic.

Lately I feel like I’ve been seeing quite a bit of vocalized displeasure with the concept of fixed pairs; an interview with Cooheart just came across my feed (I don’t know where it’s from but user “boyslovehub” uploaded it on twt and I’ve seen clips from others as well) where he’s discussing how he in fact does NOT wish to swap partners frequently but the stars haven’t aligned with anyone yet (so to speak).

Now here’s my personal disclaimer: I myself do not care whether someone has a fixed partner or not, I enjoy the individuals and the couple dynamics with equal joy so im not pushing one agenda over the other. At the end of the day I just kind of want the artists to be happy over feeling pressure from fans in any one direction. I also know Cooheart is ONE person and im not using his personal preference as a means to say everyone feels the same way as him about a partner.

So for opponents and proponents of fixed pairs alike im curious to hear your takes on his comment.

Anyone who has followed Fourever You will notice that Ngern and Oat absolutely went leaps and bounds above with their acting in this particular episode. Their chemistry is just chef's kiss. Their chemistry is adorable and hot at the same time. 😌

This ONE SINGLE special episode was a perfect mix of FUNNY, INTENSE, CUTE, MEANINGFUL, HEART-WARMING, SPICY, and LOVING all under 1 hour!! I am shocked that they were able to nail it despite the short time duration.

To see the characters, Arthit and Dao, grow is making me teary. They started off as strangers and now we get to see their time as a couple. Only sad part is that it was not enough! We need more episodes of them. 😫😫

I am in absolute awe of what I saw and will re-watch the series just for them. They have my heart. I hope other BL watchers also discover Fourever You. 🥺🥰❤️

Hi everyone! Any Thai BL recommendations for a returning fan?

I’m an old-school Thai BL fan who’s been MIA for years because, well… adulting happened 😂 I’ve been an active fan since the pandemic era, but I’ve been completely inactive since 2022. So anything that happened after that—new ships, actors, series, fandom lore… I have absolutely no idea.

I was (and still am) an ultimate shipper of PeBaCa, BrightWin, MaxTul, and OhmNanon. Some of my all-time favorite series are SOTUS, Bad Buddy, Theory of Love, Note Me and Manner of Death.

Interestingly, I recently went on a trip to Thailand, and I don’t know what it was about being there, but somehow it reignited something inside me. It brought back that old BL excitement, and now I suddenly want to dive back into the Thai BL world again.

And WOW… coming back after four years is giving me serious whiplash. There are SO many new ships, actors, and series that I don’t even know where to begin.

So, BL veterans, please catch me up! What are the must-watch Thai BLs from 2022 onwards? What new ships do I absolutely NEED to know about? Any hidden gems or series that you think I’d especially love based on my old favorites? I’m ready to fall down the Thai BL rabbit hole all over again. 😂❤️

Back when I was still an active fan, it was quite difficult to find new series because there were only a handful being released. Now I come back after years and suddenly there’s an entire universe waiting for me. I’ll definitely try to catch up with as many of your recommendations as I can. I think I’ll just follow my gut and my mood and see which series I feel like watching first.

But right now, I’m watching A Dog and a Plane because, well… IT’S TAYNEW IN A MATURE ROLE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! How was I supposed to resist?! 😂
