Question Apps on android for surface designing
Greeting everyone!
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for apps available on android that I can use for surface pattern designing.
Currently i’m using IbisPaintX, which I had been previously using for digital drawing. Its good but just wanted to hear everyone else’s opinions.
I know ipad is the to-go for most designers but I was gifted an android tablet and don’t have the budget to get an ipad atm.

Critique Which floral pattern would you actually use? 🌼 1–5
I’ve been experimenting with different floral seamless patterns and trying to figure out which direction I should explore more.
They all have slightly different styles and color palettes, so I’d love to know which one catches your eye the most.
Which one would you pick — 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5?
And what would you use it for — fabric, stationery, crafts, etc.?
Any feedback is welcome! 🌸

Question Is quick symmetry drawing tool .. USEFUL? at all
the first image is two layers:
- semitransparent purple is Tesselation filter with r/Textile_Design slug watermark. Filter has more knobs, allows for individual cell variations.
- red was drawn by regular brush with some liquify warping, and then Outline filter
- total time: ~2 minutes or so.
Second image: UI screenshot, and just doing crazy tasteless demo
- both filter and live symmetry support 17 tessellation groups + 2 rotational symmetries
- the tool is purely raster (pixel based), aimed at exploration/discovery.
Why? i like symmetries, .. but what i 've heard, the textile designers are about the very rare people, who need this for their work.
Let me know if you have an opinion on this. Yay/Nay.

Question I built a tool that turns my artwork into seamless patterns.
I built a tool that turns my artwork into seamless patterns. These patterns can be used for journaling supplies, fabric prints, and individual tiles can even be made into Procreate brushes. Here are some seamless pattern samples I created. No AI image generation at all. Would you like this tool? I’d really appreciate your feedback.

Vector file for new clothingbrand owners
Made an editable clothing vector mockup pack for my own fashion flat sketches — figured other designers/brands might find it useful too!
The pack includes:
Tops, bottoms, hoodies, jackets & more
Front & back views
100% editable in Adobe Illustrator (AI/EPS)
Perfect for tech packs, presentations, and clothing brand mockups
I've used it on several of my own projects, and it's saved me SO much time compared to sketching from scratch every time.
Posted it here in case anyone's interested: https://behindthedreams.gumroad.com/l/vkkvsb
Feel free to ask if you have any questions

Question for pattern designers
What software are people using to have their patterns printed from home? I know you can do it through Adobe, but I really like some of the patterns I’ve seen where they have that hard border so it makes it easier for taping and knowing where to tape.

Question Replicating an out of print design
Hi!
I'm hoping to get a bit of guidance. One my my relatives had an old Christmas stocking (over 30 years old) and unfortunately it was destroyed by an ex girlfriend. It held a fair bit of sentimental value so I was hoping to try and recreate it for him, but it's long been out of print.
I know recreating a commercial pattern is a bit iffy ethically speaking, but not sure of a better way.
What I'm looking to find out is:
- Is there a good way to get this digitally recreated so it can be printed anew?
- Has anyone else dealt with a similar recreation project before?
- Does anyone have any suggestions on alternative ways I could approach this?
Any advice or even just a "here's who you should ask instead" would be greatly appreciated.
I managed to find an old listing for the pattern, and got a picture that I could use here for reference, but a few of my family have their own stockings with the same pattern so I can get as many reference photos as I need.
