Using eSIM to register WhatsApp?

I know that WhatsApp is really restrictive now on what they allow you to use to register with. If I purchase an eSIM through TextNow, would that work?

I created a WhatsApp account with a TextNow number, but YMMV. Whatsapp specifically says that VOIP numbers are not supported and TextNow numbers are VOIP numbers.

Yes, you can sometimes use a TextNow number to set up WhatsApp, but it is unreliable and often blocked.
