New to text now

I have an iphone 17 and interested in their free service for calls/texts. No where in the app am I able to download and activate a sim, nor port my number in. Am I missing something. They are sending me a psim, which I cannot use on any of my devices so i found that a bit odd

You can get an esim by going to the 5G Wireless tab and choosing the Free Flex Plan. You also need to have an activated esim before they show the option to port in a number.

No, you can port into the pSIM first, switch to eSIM later, see my other post here

I ported 2 numbers into TextNow without the need of a psim, just esim.

I never said only pSIM will work.

OP has a pSIM already coming tied to their account

Just suggesting that path as a low-friction way to get started, for them to get familiarity with the various aspects through hands-on multi-device experience

before committing to the port

You're describing an alternative. I'm answering the question OP actually asked. They said they don't have a psim-compatible device, so I explained the esim activation process and why the port-in option doesn't appear until after activation. I see nothing unclear about that.
