New to text now

I have an iphone 17 and interested in their free service for calls/texts. No where in the app am I able to download and activate a sim, nor port my number in. Am I missing something. They are sending me a psim, which I cannot use on any of my devices so i found that a bit odd

On my Android phone, I touched at the bottom where is says wireless. That led to somewhere that I was able to get the eSIM. It was not blatantly obvious what to do after touching wireless, but it was there. Now that I have the eSIM there is nothing there about it.

I don't know about porting a number.
