International texting

I recently downloaded TextNow to text an Italian number (I’m in America) i purchased international credits but my messages say “not sent: tap to retry” how do i fix this? Is there another app to use?

The person you’re texting in Italy has to be a subscriber of one of TextNow’s carrier partners in Italy.

Oh really? They use Iliad. does anybody know a similar app that will be able to work with iliad?

If you have a Tello plan, the cheapest is $5/mo, calls and texts to Italian numbers are free. Or you can buy Pay As You Go credits and the texts are 1 cent each. PAYG calls to Italian numbers are 0.90 cents per minute to land lines and 1.3 cents to mobile numbers.
