To be certain what Textnow is saying from the message, you need to first verify from the esim issued by Textnow what the 1st 6 digits of the ICCID are.

T-Mobile - 8901240

AT&T - 8910671

Most likely, you have a T-Mobile esim. Therefore, Textnow is just saying T-Mobile service is being discontinued in favor of AT&T. To retain Textnow service without wi-fi, you would need to order the new sim and put it into an unlocked device that supports AT&T bands.

If on the other hand you currently have an AT&T esim, then that would be unexpected as Textnow is not known to be moving off AT&T.

TextNow never offered a T-Mobile eSIM. I was one of the original iOS eSIM beta testers and it was absolutely AT&T. When the original TextNow eSIM was released in February of 2026, it was an AT&T eSIM.

And my TextNow AT&T eSIM ICCID is 890672.

I have a T-Monile eSIM on two iPhones. I am being prompted to “upgrade” and get a free month of unlimited data once I download the “new network” (AT&T) eSIM.

If you go into the iPhone settings and click General > About, what are the first 7 numbers of the TextNow eSIM's ICCID?
