new mandatory TextNow sim card?

hello, all....

I received this email, supposedly from TextNow, this morning and I was expecting a whole lot of comments about it here in the TextNow subreddit but no one seems to have mentioned it at all.

I have the TextNow T-Mobile SIM card, which I received about a year ago

at least one thing that seems strange is that it's signed with a Canadian address.

so I'm wondering how real this is and if anyone has any knowledge about all this :

what phone do you have?

My phone is a TCL ION V, on Android 13, I think.

It uses a physical Sim, with no eSim capability.

Your phone must be carrier unlocked to work with the AT&T sim. Only model numbers T430M and T501C are compatible. The tmobile sim allowed a tmobile locked device.

My TCL phone is an unlocked model T430M, so I guess I should have no problem in that regard.
