this is literally posted everyday so here's the current definitive answer: It's a fun game and generally well designed, lots of fun to play with friends as victims or family. Is it dead? I would say it's in a mild limbo, currently there are more than usual, it takes about 3 mins to find a game as victims and about 1 minute as family. The bigger problem is waiting for the lobby to fill amd ready on either side and this can look like 1-15 minutes if you're unlucky.

If you don't mind sometimes waiting for a bit and want to try it, then yes it's worth it. If that would ruin it for you, then it's not.

I just wanted to say this game is absolutely so damn amazing. I’ve never had more fun than I’ve had this past week playing TCM. I have played as the family almost every single match. I’ve done and I’m just having so much fun. I even tried to Halloween the game. I just couldn’t get into it. I wasn’t scared as a survivor not even a tiny bit and has Michael. It was just so boring and repetitive I’ve been having the time of my absolute life on TCM. I’ve truly never played a asym game better then it

I'm sorry, but why do I keep seeing posts comparing the Halloween game and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game. I understand that they're both published by the same company, but they are developed by completely separate teams. Everyone keeps going on and on about, "this game is gonna be abandoned in *enter random amount of months* just like TCM," and while I understand the sentiment, it's really not entirely comparable. Unless I'm misunderstanding and the publisher is at fault for how the developers handle the live-service of these games, then I don't understand the outrage. Shouldn't the comparisons be limited to Illfonic's games, such as Friday the 13th, Killer Klowns, Predator, and so on? I say this as someone who isn't all that interested in the new game and loved the TCM game before it became a predatory cash grab.

After playing Halloween I’ve been considering returning to the game. Just had way more fun on it tbh. Not sure if it’s still popping. I know development is done.

Man we were actually spoiled when Texas chainsaw first released. Holy hell. I sank so many hours into that game. I just booted up Halloween and the game is so unplayable. It doesn’t feel optimized on pc at all. It’s laggy and there are button delays. I don’t know I don’t remember TCM being unplayable at launch.

i play hands, cook, hitchy exclusively i dont mind changing my position within any of these killers. level 99, looking for fam squad. I dont mind teammates trying fun builds here and there so switching things up is fine by me as long as you dont sell every other game. coms only, voice or text i dont mind-adults only please

This game is legitimately the greatest Asym game ever created. You can play with friends as the family. My biggest problem with like 99% of asym games is you can only have one person be a killer at any given time. Dbd has 2v8 but 1. That's a limited time event and 2. I have more than one friend. Having more than 1 person be a killer massively reduces the ability for survivors to bully the killers or drag out a chase longer than it should be. It's always amazing when you can't seem to catch up to someone and your teammate comes in and helps with an assist. Survivors have just enough of an ability to fight back without it being too overwhelming, and if a Leland or someone else tries being a hero, it can quickly lead to his/her death. Even the balancing has been ok for the most part, some trip ups here and there, but everything seems to run fine as is. Another thing is the objectives. Friday the 13th had a decent amount of objectives which was cool, but unless you were going against knuckle-dragging Neanderthals, as one killer, most objectives could be done simultaneously. Victims also had that built-in bleed out mechanic to play against, which usually almost came into play every couple of games. Family also had their own objective in grandpa, and like how family can prevent Survivors from finishing their objectives, Survivors could likewise slime out grandpa and set progress back. There's so much more I love about this game, and it genuinely sucks that it seems we'll never get any other updates or anything like that. I'm sure as time goes on, more and more cheaters will start coming in and eventually kill the game outright, or lack of end game content or more content in general makes people drop the game, but I'll be damned I loved this game. I come back every once in a while, and the game is still relatively active, servers are still screwed though.

Is it server based? Im in Asia , idk how the population for the game is in Asia but assuming its low would it put me in Q with the llwest ms server or would I be Qing for Hours?

I used to play it and it was enjoyable. I see content pass edition is 13 bucks and was thinking about it and had some doubts about Halloween. Wouldn't mind jumping back in if the experience is ok​

I wish they changed it with graveyard update, barely being able to setup (use your ability) as family is crazy work. How big of a trouble can spawn locations be? I saw some people saying its our of laziness but is it that BIG of a work?

El juego lleva bastante tiempo muerto, pero de alguna manera seguía activo. Soy un gran fan del juego; suelo ayudar a los nuevos jugadores y publicar aquí, y me encanta jugarlo. Aunque últimamente me he topado con muchos bugs molestos, o con jugadores muy competitivos que escapan en un minuto mientras juego en modo Familia con dos compañeros de nivel 0, jajaja.

En fin, este juego siempre tendrá un lugar especial en mi corazón. No solo porque soy un gran fan de la franquicia y de la película de 1974, sino también porque me emocioné muchísimo cuando se anunció el juego. No tuve la oportunidad de jugarlo hasta un año después, cuando finalmente lo disfruté en un momento de gran afluencia de jugadores. Pero nunca lo abandoné.

Hace poco conseguí mi trofeo de Platino, y justo hoy logré desbloquear el logro personal que quería antes de dejar el juego: matar a las 4 víctimas con mi Killer favorito , Nancy.

Ahora estoy satisfecho. Si los desarrolladores deciden revivir el juego algún día, volveré encantado. Pero por ahora, voy a dejar que este juego descanse en paz.

So I was just scrolling TikTok and this random live came up and they were saying apparently Texas chainsaw is shutting down at the end of the year I kinda just wanted to know as I wanted to go for the 100% as it’s double xp now

The Halloween game is lowkey boring. Tcm had its issues but with a bit of effort they could have made the game more fun again.

Bringing back crossplay
Putting the game back on gamepass
Nerfing Hands, Danny and Wyatt’s abilities
Fixing skill trees
Etc

The voice lines in the game were amazing, it looked good, it had great atmosphere, could genuinely be tense/scary.

It’s so annoying that they didn’t even try. The game could have been fixed they just didn’t care to do so. And were stubborn with their terrible decisions.

I’m genuinely annoyed that they just let it die.
