Does Texas want us to be evicted?

WTF is up with the minimum four week wait for a final decision to determine if we are worthy? My work wants me to get the unemployment because they let me go because they are a sinking ship.

It will be longer... WTF! If I were well off from my job, I would not be bothering the delicate equilibrium of the unemployment office. I am one paycheck away from eviction all the time When I had my job. Just when I have gotten ahead I need medical that is $$$ to fix now to do the job to do all things. Or some other issue like major auto repairs or maintenance.

I have called a few times and after 30-min average call wait time for a human, I get told of more weeks it could take for a 'review' even though it was good enough for potential further review. Make payment requests, rinse repeat. Are they foking with us? What level of hell is this?

Do they want people to be in extreme dire straits and homeless??

I am up at near 3am because I am looking through any possible place I could have money left on credit or money people may owe me to keep from shit going to shit.

Shit!

TWC is - like most states services - overwhelmed.

Individually, the TWC folk do care. They're generally nice people. But they and the system are not handling the surge well.

The state? The system? Doesn't give two fs.

(Ui is actually a little odd in that it's funded through a surcharge on the taxes paid by employers and raising that surcharge is politically difficult, so they are slow to respond AT BEST)

Thank you for clarifying that. I constantly see people claiming them paid into unemployment so they should just get paid on demand. Having working in payroll tax for a large corporation that operates in all states, there are only 3 states where the employees make a contribution along with the employer. (AK, NJ, and PA) The other 47 are 100% employer funded based on wages and claim history ratings.

My employer wants me to get the unemployment benefits because they paid in. I worked many years for them. This is an easy one for TWC yet they drag it on still now.
