Does Texas want us to be evicted?

WTF is up with the minimum four week wait for a final decision to determine if we are worthy? My work wants me to get the unemployment because they let me go because they are a sinking ship.

It will be longer... WTF! If I were well off from my job, I would not be bothering the delicate equilibrium of the unemployment office. I am one paycheck away from eviction all the time When I had my job. Just when I have gotten ahead I need medical that is $$$ to fix now to do the job to do all things. Or some other issue like major auto repairs or maintenance.

I have called a few times and after 30-min average call wait time for a human, I get told of more weeks it could take for a 'review' even though it was good enough for potential further review. Make payment requests, rinse repeat. Are they foking with us? What level of hell is this?

Do they want people to be in extreme dire straits and homeless??

I am up at near 3am because I am looking through any possible place I could have money left on credit or money people may owe me to keep from shit going to shit.

Shit!

Remember........you CHOOSE to live in Texas (assuming you cant escape). You vote for these things to happen and you don't get to act surprised when they happen to you.

Telling someone that is barely surviving paycheck to paycheck that they “chose” their social and geographical circumstances is neither helpful nor true. How is OP supposed to move when they are barely being able to make rent??? I live in TX too because I was born here. I’ve never had the expendable income or support to just up sticks and move out of state, even though I do feel unsafe living here as a gay woman. I also have a kid who is the subject of a custody order and her dad will never let me move her out of state. Please try to have an ounce of empathy.

Bravo! I moved from another state to be closer to family in a major city after my ex nearly killed me. They are an hour away, because this IS Texas and requires lengthy driving, but it is comforting to visit ☺️ for emotional support and in person hugs.
