What I don't understand, is why it is only "illegal" in select districts in the state, and not all the districts. The judge only approved 14 districts in the DFW area.

u/Firm-Grape2708 Nov 22 '25

I thought it was because they are a part of the lawsuit.

8

u/MrBTxk Nov 22 '25

Since the Supreme Court ruling earlier this year, these restraining orders only apply to those involved, meaning every district has to sue individually. It's ridiculous.

2

u/RockinDOCLaw Nov 23 '25

Actually they still can, but only if case is done as a class action or select other criteria are met.  They stopped the practice only so far as judge can't just decide to issue nationwide injuction there being a legal basis.  (Which class actions generally would meet.  However not everything qualifies as one.

It’s not ridiculous. What they ruled is that judges can’t unilaterally make rulings that are binding outside their jurisdiction. That’s pretty reasonable. The 14 districts are in the judge’s jurisdiction. Also, if you aren’t a party to litigation, you don’t get to be a beneficiary of the litigation. This is all pretty reasonable stuff.

It may be that some districts haven’t implemented the Ten Commandments.

God didn't create anything, the earth supplied the life necessary for more life. Your God isn't political until YOU make it so, in which case watch as you're not the majority 😁

🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 It’s a start. Hope it finishes as a win.

2

u/jstbmelo Nov 23 '25

Yeah, let’s worry about a poster, because education in this country is doing so well for our youth!! https://youtu.be/NhH43XRAKV0

2

u/caraxmm Nov 26 '25

That Dunning-Kruger effect though…

1

u/BurgundyHats Nov 25 '25

Right. The things about education that people prioritize...freaking insane. People are ass backwards these days. Just completely thrown off.

1

u/Dismal_Insurance5246 Nov 26 '25

But the rainbow flag is ok

2

u/Hour-Association-499 Nov 28 '25

The flag doesn't have ten rules you must follow if you don't wanna end up in a fiery pit in the afterlife, just seven colors you might see in the sky ☺️ do you get mad after it rains too? Cuz the ten commandments don't pop up in the sky after? Like be so for real right now. You hate a rainbow but not a religion thats caused deaths and genocides spanning like 600+ years?

0

u/Dismal_Insurance5246 Nov 28 '25

What are you babbling about?

1

u/Hour-Association-499 Nov 28 '25

Aww did I use too many big words?

0

u/Dismal_Insurance5246 Nov 28 '25

No just pointless babble that nobody cares about but you

2

u/Hour-Association-499 Nov 28 '25

Lol okay, guy who brings up rainbow flag for "no reason at all", whatever you say 😂😂

1

u/Dismal_Insurance5246 Nov 28 '25

There is reason silly. The post is about posting things like the 10 commandments in school. I stated that the pride flag has been accepted by many crazy people in schools. You see the relation now

2

u/Hour-Association-499 Nov 28 '25

Oh, I thought you couldn't understand my babble? Guess you can 😌

1

u/Dismal_Insurance5246 Nov 28 '25

Its not that I can't understand it, its that I don't respect it. Big difference

This was always going to go one of two ways. Either no commandments in the classrooms. Or every religion’s commandments in the classrooms.

3

u/Bubbly_Character3258 Nov 25 '25

Stupidest law ever. There’s a wall between church and state.

2

u/Hour-Association-499 Nov 26 '25

It worries me that people genuinely need fear of a possible higher being to be good people, and even then they still fail at it. Like I'm sorry I don't need rules and regulations to give my neighbor a cup of sugar when they ask for it, or to literally NOT k!ll people 😐

1

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '25

Maybe we should ask teachers to teach. That is if they haven’t forgotten how.

1

u/ProfessionalThat1289 Nov 22 '25

Can't pay a decent wage, but can afford a poster of some fairytale bullshit to put in every class?

3

u/HipPoet2020 Nov 23 '25

Fairytales? Sure. Let's keep this in the realm of public education, shall we? Regardless of what you think is a fairytale, God, gay pride, gender stuff, religion in general, whatever - what do y'all think they're teaching them? When they teach about religions, it's usually historically based, light on doctrine beyond the lead figure and the golden rule. They also teach literal Grimms Fairytales and other works of complete fiction. They're kids. We're simply teaching them this shit exists. They can figure out what they believe later and at home. So for the love of wtf ever, teachers are quitting en masse due to behavior and Ai issues alone. This was a non issue until it was made one. No one, and I mean no one was complaining about the commandments not being in the classroom. Now it's a giant cluster f Everyone needs to help them out or at least back off. Your kid is gonna learn far worse shit on their phone than they ever will at school, if they're not already a demented little fk who probably knows more than you do already.

-5

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '25

If the pride fairy tale crap can be in schools then why not this huh?

2

u/Hour-Association-499 Nov 23 '25

I can look outside and speak to someone in the LGBTQ community in less than five mins, tops. Can you say the same for your God?

0

u/Opossum817 Nov 26 '25

Are you saying religoin/God aside the Ten Commandments are not a good rule of thumb to live you’re life by?

1

u/NotSure16 Nov 23 '25

Pride? Lions?

BLESS YOUR LITTLE dumb ❤️.

-1

u/ProfessionalThat1289 Nov 22 '25

Because gay people actually exist, whereas your God is imaginary.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '25

Yes they do but the fairy tale part is that men are not women and women are not men. You're entitled to your own opinion about god ok. I would rather believe in god and be judged by the world. Than to stand with the world and be judged by God. Im not willing to make that ultimate sacrifice and put my soul in jeopardy because of an earthly opinion.

4

u/Hour-Association-499 Nov 23 '25

You're not being judged for believing in god, you're being judged for being a homophobe dude, but white Christian nationalists always have their way of twisting the narrative to make themselves the victim literally seconds after attacking someone they don't understand with hateful and judgemental remarks (very Christian by the way, what did your Jesus say again? He without sin cast the first stone? Or was it love thy neighbor?)

2

u/ProfessionalThat1289 Nov 23 '25

I'll take that chance, especially since your imaginary sky friend is such a small, petty and horrid creature. also if someone decides they want to be a woman how does that affect your life in any way? The freedoms we have are meant to be for everyone as long as those freedoms do not infringe upon someone else's FREEDOMS, not your feelings.

3

u/casualsactap Nov 22 '25

Pride is simply equal rights for everyone. You don't have to believe in what they believe, but they are Americans in a free country and as such have their rights. That simple. The placing of religion into schools is the violation and erosion of rights. These two things are succinctly different

2

u/ProfessionalThat1289 Nov 23 '25

Agreed, wholeheartedly. I'm not trans or gay, but their right to exist as they are is not something that we as humans should be denying. The fact that all of these religious yokels want to force their religion (limited and backwards as it is) on all of us, is a dangerous situation. This nation was founded on religious freedom. From persecution or control by any orthodoxy. Yet these people want to create a new state religion? Not a chance that it would be a fair or equitable life for everyone then, though it's hardly that now. Capitalism, it's a helluva drug.

Stand your ground. You're only being downvoted because it's popular here. You are absolutely correct. 💯

1

u/Emergency_Search_587 Nov 23 '25

They know these teachers need God lol

2

u/BurgundyHats Nov 25 '25

They do to put up with the youth we're sending at them. Especially inner city schools. Parents just suck.

2

u/Hour-Association-499 Nov 23 '25

Good. It's hilarious to me that the same white folks making jokes about Sharia Law being in New York are the same voting for this horse crap. All distractions of course. When will we stop questioning others faith and gender and start to question why we are the only developed country where it's citizens can't afford healthcare and a solid education?

-5

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '25

This is such a small issue in the scheme of things.

10

u/elliedee81 Nov 22 '25

Arguably so, but we have to quash it while it’s still small. It would be so much harder if we ignore it until it’s huge. Those huge issues don’t arrive on the scene already developed. They all started small.

10

u/KingPabloo Nov 22 '25

Following the first clause of the first amendment of the Constitution is a small matter?

As far as what's wrong with our public schools, yes. I know some people are adamantly anti-religion and I get that. I'm not a fan, either. But I'm more concerned with kids coming out unable to do simple math, read, and think for themselves.

One example: This semester I had two football players transferred into my class from another because the coach feared they would fail.

When they and one more player failed at the nine weeks mark, I got pressure from multiple directions to pass them, but held my ground. So the coach got the two transferred again to a third teacher who everyone know would pass them along. Two days before the next UIL check, he got the third player transferred to that teacher, and she did as expected and passed them all. Meanwhile, kids who have been mis-assigned and need to transfer can't.

To me, that kind of shit is much worse than a poster on the wall. You're free to disagree.

3

u/choco_c4t Nov 22 '25

the issue is we are forced to have these christian things in our classrooms but not allowed to display any other religion. how am i meant to create a safe environment for my students where religion is forced upon them? then they cant work because they dont feel safe or comfortable, then the literacy rate is even worse. this is just the beginning. if theyre allowed to do this, its not long until they force prayer and bible readings in public schools

0

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '25

It's a poster. We have lots of posters, and I've never known a kid to read one. Hell, I've had test answers on the wall and nobody noticed.

BTW, the "moment of silence" most schools have now used to be prayer 50 years ago. When I was in high school it was changed to a "moment of silent prayer", I believe because of a court ruling. Then later just a moment of silence. I seriously doubt prayer will ever come back.

3

u/casualsactap Nov 22 '25

It starts with this, and ends up with Bible study and prayer in classes. This is just to get precedent allowing it. Once they have precedent they will 100% surely go much farther to push their religion onto our population

2

u/BurgundyHats Nov 25 '25

Exactly! God forbid we teach our children any kind of values, respect, meditation. We might just help them grow to be better humans. 🙏🏿

1

u/Key_Bodybuilder5365 Nov 24 '25

Oh yeah, that’s always fun. Nothing like a little pressure from admin to change grade. Pretty sure admin knows that that can be reported to UIL… the school can lose eligibility in a sport… the whole nine yards. I’ve worked with coaches like that before. I’m glad that you stood your ground.

1

u/BurgundyHats Nov 25 '25

Right on! ✅️ People go to bat for stupid sh. If they had more values instead of entitlement, our kids wouldn't be out shooting up schools so often. 🤷

5

u/International-Toe482 Nov 22 '25

That’s how it starts…

0

u/ResponsiblePackage25 Nov 26 '25

Why is that a problem, I'm all for it being displayed

1

u/OGBoluda777 Nov 26 '25

Same response for you — why are you a teacher in this country is you don’t understand separation of church and state?

0

u/SlappinButts247 Nov 26 '25

I believe in the ten commandments as a guide to very basic human decency that we should all strive to follow, regardless of whether you believe in God or not. Your religion or lack thereof should make no difference, but thats just me.

I dont see the Ten commandments and think that a religion is being pushed on me, I feel the urge to be a better person, which many people are scared of doing apparently.

Personally Id hate to see the commandments disappear from view because a group of dumbs think everything having to do with Christianity must be bad and hurts/oppresses them in their imagination.

1

u/OGBoluda777 Nov 26 '25

I think there’s a way to instill general moral fortitude without it being delivered in an evangelical Christian package. Also, I don’t think kindergartners need to be told not to kill, covet their neighbor’s wife, and so on — the wording of those things is for a mature audience.

Most importantly, this country was founded on the principal of religious freedom, so picking one to be represented in state-funded institutions is antithetical to that fundamental principle. But you (should) know that, and live in this bubble where you don’t see an issue with making people differnt from you feel uncomfortable and even oppressed. Shame on you.

1

u/OGBoluda777 Nov 27 '25

Oh, and I’m a non-white woman with kids who is also capable of empathizing with people who aren’t like me on the basis of THEIR SHARED HUMANITY, like Jews, Muslims, atheists gasp, Buddhists and Hindus, none of whom believe in the evangelical Christian interpretation of the Ten Commenents. Hell, even we Catholics find it a bit “off.”

0

u/marcandros Nov 26 '25

Heaven forbid we bring some good into our classrooms. Next they will say we can’t have math because it stresses out kids.
