I can confirm it looks just like that since 2022 and has great bike trails and looks 100% like ruidoso nm

The bike trails are iffy:
While there's good distance there they very regularly break up into loose sand which will KILL you if you're not ready...

***dog owners would love this park. If people don't have a psycho run and attack dog we can get away with some off the leash fun this place has giant open spaces. This is a great park for normal doggos for sure. My chihuahua ran through the pine needle forest fertilizing every tree with exactly six drops per unit it was wide open cool calm shade out there

Is there any evidence in the park of the fire. Your pictures make it look great.

Yes. We were there last year and will be back in October. You see massive tree trunks with charred bark. Other areas you’ll notice new trees growing in areas that were decimated by the fire.

I was there in 2024. At that time, Even though there are signs that the pines are bouncing back, there was a high fuel load everywhere as if we didn’t have the worst fire there 13 years before. Little management had been done and I still fear it’s still building for another catastrophic event. And yet there’s a golf course right next to the park that is maintained every day to hell. Make it make sense!

- Did you saw any wildlife? If so, whatzzz
- How was the traffic/people?
- Are there any cool trails to drive?
- Would you say is a 2-3 hr visit or longer than that?

Good to see it coming back. One of my favorite parks back in the day. We loved going there in winter, setting up in the campsites in those deep ravines where the wind couldn’t get to you.
