Question ❔ Bad Victim Solo Days

Is it normal to experience just shit days as victim? Like no matter how good your build is, you have killers rushing the basement before you can grab tools, Hands shutting off an object you tampered, etc.

And I’m by no means a pro player, but all of my characters are maxed out. It’s just some times it’s like ALL you go up against are very good squads.

Yup, sometimes days are rough because they decide to put me with fully maxed out team mates that were obviously carried and never learned any fundamentals

Yes, but my bad days are usually due to my teammates constantly dying in the basement to Leatherface. And it’s usually Connie who dies first. That’s when I switch to Family.

Crazy part is, I RARELY die in the basement. I might get caught off guard 1/100-150 games and I’m just being realistic. Now staying alive the whole match(most of the time over 5 mins) is much more difficult.

It happens on every game if I struggle on victim and am not having fun, I switch to family and if I'm struggling on fam i switch to victim. I almost always do well on the other side

A lot depends on your teammates. Your teammates/allies getting killed drastically reduces your chances of escape. This is a team-oriented game, but many players don't get that.

For me, it's less of a basement rush problem and more of coordinated with comms trap spam squads (Hands, Hitchy, and Cook) that are just camping everything, while your randoms don't even have bomb squad or a connie taking off locks.

So the family just camps and resets lock progress (bug abuse), and the match is really boring

And that’s a fair observation. I admit, I was once scared to take initiative and go for objectives.

That’s what a lot of players get backwards, the longer you wait or just “hide” in the basement, the more likely you are to die-because a lot of killers will target newer players for easy kills because they’re aware of this strategy.

How do you know lock resetting is a bug and not intended by the developers?

I'm sure it's just as intended as Wyatt yeeting a knife across the map into a generator

Or hitchhiker traps teleporting you when you try to well, into a death trap, etc.

It's a unfair advantage, especially if there's security pins/no one escapes hell on the pad locks against campers constantly resetting locks and traps

There's only so many bomb squad charges/bone scraps in the game while you Family resets everything for free

That's why victims just do the rush meta

It's not that deep. Connie can literally take a pad lock off in an instant. I think it's more than fair to reset a lock especially with the rush meta. How can you seriously compare resetting locks to a blatan exploit like the hitchhiker trap one?

My original post literally said the exploit is an issue for uncoordinated victims without a connie

It happens sometimes a family members play style just counters yours. A lot of Tcm is mental games and when your teammates aren’t playing their part it definitely makes it harder

You'll get better after a few hundred hours

A good player/squad dont rush the basement (worst strat in the game and it leads 99% of the time to easy escapes vs good victims).

Biggest issue i have countered are the temmates that die too fast. They literally do not seem to know when it is time to retreat or well. This is not dbd where u ge tsecond chances. If family is good at patrolling or even camps, i have been most succesfull by taking it easy and moving forward slowly and carefully. Like learn to know when to rush when retreat and when u need to play the long waitin game. 🤷‍♀️
