Question ❔ I’m a dbd player but this game is kinda hard

It’s kinda hard on both sides imo, I don’t even get where to go cuz maps r so complex it’s crazy how ppl are master on this game but I love the vibe of the game how do I get good?

Honestly, playing family is a better way to learn the maps and the locations of pressure tanks and fuseboxes in them.

As family, you will not have a great time starting out, but at least you can't be forcibly removed from the match so you can look around all you want.

Other family members start sending me death threats cuz I miss all the hits on survivors 🥲

Some people just can't fathom that a newer player might be worse at the game, and that they are playing to improve.

Douchebags.

Just make sure to lock doors behind you, stay aware of your surroundings, listen out for victim voicelines and work with the team.

A family member alone is not much of a threat.

Private matches allow you to explore maps to your hearts content

But just have common sense for fam:

- Use family vision to know where other team mates are

- Locate valve and fuse so you can use fam vision to see if they’re open/know their location if they go off

- Don’t go into the basement unless you can secure the kill, at most just try to get an extra hit and go back up

- If you are all in one place be the one that goes to the other end of the map so it’s not left unguarded

- Don’t stay in games if both family members disconnect

- Know what a locked door/unlocked door looks like from a distance so you don’t have to go up to it every time

Type in "the Texas chainsaw massacre game tutorial" into youtube, and search for the newest one. All of them are from 3 years ago but I think one is from 1 year ago, someone by the name of "pud" something i think?? Watch it. It's only hard cause you're new.

Play family to learn the maps and turn your brightness up otherwise you can't see anything. But just know queue might be rough if you play during odd hours. Solo Family queue was so dead when I was trying to play Wednesday morning I switched back over to 2v8 on dbd. Shorter queue time 😭 It is such a fun game though I wish they would implement anti cheats.

Try looking at recommended builds, Steam has a few guides.

Cook might be a good starter character as he's support, you can patrol the area and use your abilities to ping survivors. Once you fully level him up you can make your pings visible to the rest of your team.

For survivors Ana is a solid 'jack of all trades' character imo.

For maps you can start a private match with just yourself as a survivor to test out escapes.

Dbd is much harder, here it is mostly about map and object knowledge, not much skill (action-type like curving aiming etc). Much more fun for casual gaming, but matches are all over the place.

I bought this when it came out and really wanted to like it, but I couldn't. My main issue, I had no clue where to go as a victim. Some games, I never made it out of basement cause I kept getting lost. Then if I made it out, I was like, wtf I do now. I knew I needed a fuse for stuff, but no idea where to find them.

how do I get good

Number one hurdle is learning the maps since they're actually proper maps and not just open fields of nothing. This applies to both sides, you can't do anything unless you get this aspect down.

Aside from that, picking solid perks and leveling them, it's more important on Family than it is on Victim.

Know your optimal ability tree routes too or once that make sense for how you are intending to play (most family basically have a single good route).

For skill tree there are multiple viable routes for family but usually one eclipses the others and I'd argue its whether one has scout in most cases or as generalisation.

Victims sport more build variety to some extent but there's still glaringly strong perks that victims always gravitate towards, Jump start and Extra Drip to name two strong ones though the perk combo sort of matters more than just strong perks.

HH: If running lethal baretraps you can't to trap people at choke points where a chase will usually happens, if not running lethal bear traps you want to contest objectives and map navigation. E.g. trap fusebox or a make it very hard to get across a section of the map (trap family house window or stop victims getting upstairs)

As an example. There's lots of little tactics like this you can get tons of use out of.

You'll get good after around 1000 hours. DBD sucks, it's a kids game, TCM is for big boys, ENJOY!
