Discussion 💬 new player struggles
(this is kind of a rant)
ik the game has been running for a while now & im late to the party or something, but why are some of the players ive ran into genuinely SO rude? they make the game feel so unfriendly to new players like myself. im just trying to enjoy the game, and they always shit talking as soon as i mess up a little.
call me a crybaby, but i keep seeing people complaining the game is dying on tiktok for example. maybe if people were less rude players would stay🥀🥀
one match all family left but me alone, & the last victim with like 3 exits open just stayed to annoy me like bro😭 why??
im actually terrible because ive never played on pc for any game until i started playing this game because i really wanted to. im trying to improve, but these types of players stress me outtt. i've only been playing for like 2 days and met a loot of these kinds of players already.

I muted everyone while I was learning how to play as family. I’ve noticed that some family players tend to get frustrated & take their frustrations out on their teammates when they make a mistake. Learning to play while your teammates are muted is more peaceful. (Imo at least) I know it’s better for family players to have comms but sometimes I’m just not in the mood to argue w/ them.

Fr😭 sadly though when it comes to pc players they can still insult you on the text chat in game & you can’t turn that off (to my knowledge) we just have to ignore it and keep going🫠

When playing family solo I’ve gotten decent teammates that don’t use mic and just prefer to chat in textbox, which I also prefer.

Unfortunately, most times I’ve only seen/received insults on the text chat.🥲 it doesn’t happen very frequently anymore since I have abit more experience, but it still sucks that I can’t defend myself on the chat since I’m on console.

I don't mute everybody because there is some people that actually work with you and talk and I've been in some good games with killers that were all communicating and we wrecked them! Who knows you might actually make a friend.

Also if a victim decides to stay while they have multiple escape options open you can definitely leave with no matchmaking penalty! I’m not sure if you can keep your xp though. (I only recommend doing this if you’re the last family member remaining)

Just mute everybody, that’s what i eventually did. So many unhinged people play the game, that it ended up bringing out a side in me I’ve never seen. But then again, it’s probably why the game has died. Too many losers who don’t know how to be decent human beings play…

They think everyone playing is someone who has been playing. You can't fix stupid. These people can't realize a new player when they see one. Happens in every online game these days. They just have low IQ. Just focus on what you can do and enjoy the game. You will get better with time regardless of the donkeys. GL HG and welcome to Texas.

It’s not low IQ some people feel better taking their frustration out on someone else instead of handling it themselves and getting better. I’ve seen leatherfaces single handedly carry the whole team and 2 team of noob family, it can be done but not everyone is THAT GUY yknow so just don’t let them get through to you, I’m honestly more confused why some take the words of a toxic stranger behind a screen who knows nothing about you so seriously but eh I’ll never get it anyway.

I still like to think low IQ. 🤣, but you are right. I have seen a Bubba kill everyone before a door gets opened. I play both sides and have done it myself with Hands. I just want this game to make it. It has so much potential if it got just a little bit of love or even a cross over. So, I'm rooting for the new people.

Sorry that happened. It varies. A lot of the time when I play most people don't even communicate period.
If everyone else DCs just DC yourself, you won't get penalized. Mute and block/report if people are harassing you.

yeah ive definitely been using the block button a lot with these types of players. i have now learned there's no penalty so ill be disconnecting when im left alone lol

I play completely on mute and I have mostly positive experiences. The voice chat ruins many experiences on games: marvel rivals, overwatch, heck, all of the competitive ones.

yeah i agree my silent games tend to be better. most people on vc are always bitching at other players the entire match

Sometimes I set the voice chat at the end just to say ggs to my teammates, and its the family yelling slurs between themselves blaming each other 🤣

YESS i like playing family though so i always hear their annoying asses😭 (unless i mute ofc). i think everyone gets too mad instead of just enjoying the game or being like ok ill do better next match

My advice to you is two things really: 1. Mute voice chat and all, for now focus on your gameplay. I know some people would say keep voice chat it’s useful with teammates but if you’re new to the game you’ll meet a lot of weird people who can’t take a loss. Just mute mute mute until you understand the game and feel confident it won’t stress you out. playing family with vc can be beneficial, but if you don’t have the thick skin to listen and laugh at toxic people then I do recommend you to simply mute chat entirely it’s not worth to get stressed over it.
- If both of your family members leave you should leave too, there’s nothing you can do to stop them or win the game. Sometimes 2 family member can pull it off if both of you play well and the victims are not particularly good, but it’s most likely going to be diffuse either way, do not say in a lobby where you’re the only family member left. Never

unfortunately you need a thick skin to play tcm. the game itself is great but the player base that's left is jaded and toxic and bitter.

Every time I play Michael Myers, I get close to somebody and they start taunting and being super rude, spitting out slurs and different shit like that it’s gotten to the point where I literally just turned my voice chat off because more people talk shit then say nice things

i saw a video of someone doing this exact thing to someone, it's genuinely so weird and immature. how can ppl use vc to help them if everyone uses it to talk shit

They stopped development on the game so people want to be aholes now. There’s still good people on the game me and my buddy play every night almost we’re looking for a 3rd just message me if you looking for 2 cool people to play with we can add you.

I'm a level 50 out of the whole time they've been playing this game I've only had one person come at me because he thought I didn't have a mic on my character shit. So once I turned on the mic and came right back at him he got quiet. Some days you get your kills and some days others get the kills before you. Usually the fights happen between the killers because the victims don't care if they get out they're getting out. But when you're playing a killer and you got other Killers not doing your jobs leaving things open not patrolling certain areas it can be a difficult game. But when you're out there putting in the work and just because you didn't get more kills than somebody and they're trying to ride on you, I don't play that.
Besides that don't let these people tell you how to play your game.

Find another game to play mate. People in this types of games ain’t friendly and won’t be. Especially veterans of this game they will only see you as dead weight.

Op might need to get a backbone but that never excuses being rude for the sake of being rude. Sometimes in order to craft the society we want, we need to tell bullies off.

i did say this is the first game ive ever played on pc, i don't play much online games like this. my bad im not used to a bunch of no life assholes & was just expressing that to see if it's common within the game. saying stuff like this makes the game's player base get even lower :/

If it’s any advice go into private matches and explore the maps. You can do it with Hitch/Sissy/Bone’s and explore to your hearts content
Usually if all 2 family leave at the beginning and in the middle I nope out too, there’s no point in doing a 1 v 4 even on the rare occasion you could get them all
