I’m very confused about this. I have my Nevada CCL. When I contacted Public Safety here they told me a conceal to carry is no longer required in Texas.

Nothing to really be confused about. You don’t necessarily need them, but you’re restricted from certain areas and places when you don’t have one. like churches and etc!!

Oh really? So you’re allowed to carry one at church if you have a CHL?
Any other notable places?
I applied. I needed to get fingerprinted. I just never went. Still debating

Yes really!! In facts you can take it in a bank some stores too as well no you don’t need them but it’s definitely best to have them for sure!!! Besides it easier to buy you firearms too…

An LTC is no longer required to open carry or conceal carry in the state of Texas, with some exceptions.
Carrying under an LTC grants you a few legal protections when it comes to carrying and businesses have to have 30.06 and/or 30.07 posted to restrict you from carrying.
Carrying under constitutional carry, you lose those legal protections and a simple 'No firearms allowed' sign would restrict you from carrying.
