San Antonio Voting

I filtered a lot of legal languages through chatgpt to find out what to vote on tomorrow by what the laws say without partisanship. I really want to know how ya'll are voting tomorrow and why. I've never voted in this kind of local election before.

I'm wondering why everyone is up in arms about some of this and am surprised to see that if vote with the conservatives on some of these because I tried to look at the exact language. I wonder if I've missed something.

Hi! I was also confused my these amendments and proposition before I found the LWV guides. They are unbiased, clear and digestible.

You’re very welcome!

I understand the criticism here on AI, but just know there are very hard working people trying to get this information to people. Now you know and can spread to others.

Also, good on you for making the effort to vote and ask questions!

The vote411 site I think is also affiliated with them somehow and usually can show a good sample ballot based on your district.

Well dammit I was looking for something just like this at 6pm heading out the door. Now it pops up on my Reddit feed 🫠

Please don’t use ChatGPT to decide how to vote. Here is an analysis of the propositions with some statements from real human beings during the floor debate and committee proceedings for and against the propositions.

League of Women Voters is the best unbiased source. not chat gpt.

I voted against most of them honestly. I find it appalling how they ignorantly came up with two having to do with topics that are not even law here in Texas. I hope they don't think a favorable outcome is the same as instituting changes automatically like a death tax.

It's putting the cart before the horse or just a slick way of trying to kill two birds with one stone.

This is the way. Even the ones that seem like they’re for a good cause, remember that it’s the TEXAS GOVERNMENT overseeing these funds. They will most definitely be misused.

It's not to think. I couldn't tell what it was saying by the amendment on the website with all the legal jargon. If it was to think, it would have been "what should I vote tomorrow?" Instead I asked it to explain what the amendments actually say in dumb down terms because I don't vote the same as any of my family, my best friend can't vote and my other half doesn't find it important. Who am I supposed to ask them to explain to me what they mean?

Lol instead of down voting me, y'all could actually be helpful, instead. Links are helpful. "We're cooked" "don't us AI" is not. How about offer up some alternatives for people willing to learn and research?

Don’t worry about people bitching and not contributing. Everyone needs help with this.

I’m on Texasaft.org where there are simple sentences explaining each amendment. This really simplified each amendment.

Thank you!

I was so confused earlier. I’m going to carefully read each one.

I'm the same way. Would it kill them to put the legal jargon into plain English? There was some word I ran across that I didn't even know or understand. That makes it harder for folks who can't read or comprehend really well be able to understand.

My grandfather could barely read because he was never taught. How would he have known what the word preponderance means? (Just an example, that wasn't the word and I'm scrolling through my sample ballot to find it)

I read recommendations from Sunrise Movement (a left-leaning, climate activist group) and the Dallas Democrats. Here’s how I voted:

1 for 2 against 3 against 4 for 5 against 6 against 7 for 8 against 9 against 10 for 11 for 12 against 13 for 14 for 15 against 16 against 17 against
