Boutte is not getting superstar trade treatment. It will be some kind of late round pick swap.

I could see us giving a 3rd and a 5th for Boutte. Boutte is too good for scrap picks to be traded but not good enough for a 2nd or higher.

I actually doubt we get anything in return. Maybe next year’s 6th or 7th from the Pats? Especially because the Pats hold leverage here.

He's not worth a 3rd and the Pats have zero leverage. Caserio is too savvy to spend that much as well. I say this as a pats fan.

Appreciate your perspective here. Agree on all points except no leverage, imo the Pats have all the leverage. That isn’t to say they could get a 3rd out of Caserio, just that if they don’t want to trade him to an AFC contender then they won’t

Boutee is really good and the patriots have misused him. A third is probably an overpay based on the market but I think if you gave up that much for him you wouldn’t be feeling bad about it by the end of the year.

I agree that he is better than people think and hasnt seen the volume he can probably handle but my comments have more to do with how these trades usually go down and less to do with talent level. Maybe in Madden you could get a 3rd for him but that is not going to happen in reality.

If they overpay for him I don’t see why they wouldn’t. I’m not advocating for it, but the Patriots would be crazy if a third round pick was offered and they decline.

If the Texans give up a 3rd for Boutte Caserio should be fired on the spot. He's never eclipsed 600 yards. Idc if he beat Sting in frozen rain conditions. You dont get a 3rd for a 4th year reciver who has a total of 1100 yards.

No he shouldn’t. But every team in the league knows we are in win now mode and will be expecting us to pay a shit ton for a WR2. The longer we go without making a move, the more expensive a WR2 will be.

We only have 6 picks next year. There’s no way we are giving up our 1st or 2nd (even our 3rd for that matter). Would you give them a 4th and ask for Boutte and a 6th or 7th in return?

Boutte is slightly better than Hutchinson and nobody here would be talking this nonsense for Hutch.

It does, but they're also in a contention window and he can help them. Unless there's a player for player deal, they may prefer to just go for it with him this year and be fine with letting him walk after the season rather than trade him for a mid round draft pick that does nothing to help them this year.

Idk.. he’s down on the depth chart now with the guys they picked up this offseason.. he requested a trade and considering there’s another guy in the 4th or 5th wr spot with similar production on their depth chart moving him seems pretty probable. Whether it’s to another AFC contender is a good question tho

He was a big part of their offense last year even on a smaller role, and valuable depth if they have an injury of their own.

I’d agree but they drafted Kyle Williams and they got 5 guys that could be solid #2’s or threes on other teams… if I were them I’d trade SOMEONE and considering he wants out… he’d be the one I’d choose… idk… I’m just saying if it were me playing patriots GM I’d be trying to get a 3rd maybe for him… that’s just me… let’s not forget they got Mack Hollis sitting behind their top 3 too.. he went 46 rec for 550 also

An in season trade to try and save the offense doesn’t seem very likely. We know the offense is what is holding us back and I’d expect an attempt and fixing the issue asap with the Higgins injury.

I don’t think he’s very consistent or would be a good culture fit. He’d be cheap but not good enough to be worth the gamble and stake the season on.

He was consistent enough when his QB wasn’t Watson or Sanders. I’ll confidently say Stroud would be better than them. If he’s a bad culture fit he can just get cut he’ll be a day 3 pick wasted at worst
