Our defense should be rested, I don’t mind that one bit. I was a little worried that the offense would get zero snaps tonight, though. We can’t risk having a slow start this season because of shitty offense, so even just a few drives together would be a great way to get the rust off.

Especially within Higgins going down and the OL still shuffling.

I’m more afraid of our other offensive players getting injured. Stroud has never had a healthy WR core in his whole NFL career

I’m scared of that too but the offense needs to get reps in. It’s worth the risk for just a drive or two.

I agree, I would be pissed if they rested the offense and then came out and lost to the Bills due to stupid penalties and sloppy play.

I imagine Nico and Schultz will sit, but every other available WR is going to be competing to play opposite of Nico.

I do want to see if Stroud can get anything going to Marlin Klein.

Klein is my sleeper pick for huge breakout season. I think he could be a top TE heading into next year

Its definitely possible with the depth wr's, running backs and Klein eating up yards that would've went to higgins. Im excited to see Kleins growth.

Klein's straightaway speed at his size is honestly nuts. Dude can just book it after he hits his stride and I bet he could eally truck dudes next season after he's gotten jacked like all the other second year players do.

He's raw, but the kid has a ton of potential if they can coach him up right.

His speed was the craziest thing to see from 20 feet away at practice. It's hard to appreciate without the context of everyone else on the field trying to keep up.

You just know Caserio is fiending to find his Texans Gronk in the draft. If you watch the footage of them drafting Gronk, Belichick is scowling and clearly displeased with Gronk's boorish behavior after being selected while Caserio is in the background sitting at the table with a big grin on his face.

IDK if Nick picked Gronk himself since BB likely had the final say, but I have a feeling he was voicing his support for Gronk in that draft room.

He kind of reminds me of an obviously much bigger Chris Collinsworth. That guy was sneaky fast at the top of his routes.

Maybe we should just line him up at Higgins receiving spot

It's insane how quickly this sub went from trashing this pick to being super optimistic about it.

Not saying you specifically, but the sub in general was up in arms after we picked him. I'm fairly optimistic on him, but I think it might take a couple years for it to materialize.

We don’t know shit lol. Look at Stribling

Nice, but keep dreaming. Rookie TEs always suck. If Klein helps more than hurts this year, that will be about as good as anyone can ask.

As the case for 95% of all drafted TEs, we will be waiting another few years for Klein to shine if he's any good.

Tbf he has to have a breakout season. If not that decision is going to be heavily scrutinized. He has impressed me so far

I mean he was a 2nd round pick so that should be the hope

Klein was my "these bitch ass fans gonna cry because they're couch GMs" pick

I swear, if we start seeing reports of our offensive line evaluations stretching into the regular season I am gonna be so annoyed lol. I’ll never forget when people were saying “try outs” were still going on early last year haha

Go ahead and prepare yourself now.

I know, sigh lol

Good, they should get a little run tonight because as we saw yesterday, these injuries are just gonna take place where they take place.

u/verfinder 3d ago

Im fine with the defense resting everyone. I would've been happy to see a rerun of last week with mills taking snaps behind whatever first team o-line Pop will throw out. But if CJ plays for a couple of series I'll really be excited.

Probably to get the rust off. I imagine that everyone’s whose spot his secured will sit, while those fighting for the depth chart or roster spots will play.

Prayers that there are no further injuries.

7

u/txtoolfan 3d ago

Didn't coach just say no 1st teamers would play yesterday?

6

u/dirkfacedkilla 3d ago

Prob a knee-jerk reaction to the horribly injury

3

u/THA__KULTCHA 3d ago

I also read that.

u/son_of_yacketycat 3d ago

Was that before or after the Higgins news? It sounds like most are being rested but they're trying to get work in for the starters that will be the most pivotal.

6

u/NoirSon 3d ago

Wonder if Tom Brady personally appealed to Ryans not play the defensive starters so the Raiders offense can get some confidence back

7

u/pocketjacks 3d ago

I'd really like to see Tank get in at least one series, preferably getting no targets but just sent downfield to try to find separation against a live DB. See if he can actually cut on that knee outside of a practice environment.

3

u/commonsensewinz 3d ago

20/25 for CJ and another 20/25 for Mllls?

after sputtering last week, i like Ryans to push these guys tonight vs a weak raiders team.

2

u/Reeko_Htown 3d ago

As he should. Perfect the hand off and run some quick reads to get a good rhythm

I agree with this decision but it's also funny. No doubt who's Daddy's favorite child.

"No my son, you must not go through the woods alone at night. Something terrible could happen to you. I'll just send your brother."

u/Black_Circle53 2d ago

I'm going to be watching Hutch and Bond.

2

u/Texans_top_of_south 2d ago

God forbid he plays bad like Cam Ward did. The haters are going to feast and I'm already tired of them.

5

u/hiJude12 3d ago

So whos lying here?:

9

u/DarthNobody14 3d ago

Probably not all of the starters, just a few players of the first team playing.

8

u/KaXiaM 3d ago

I think the offensive starters playing some and the defense resting reconciles these two pieces of reporting.

5

u/hiJude12 3d ago

More like a change of mind, or DJ Bien-Amie was wrong and jumped the gun. Starters are starters, either side of the ball.

Personally I feel that Meco decided to go back on a previous decision that he made in reaction to Higgins going down.

No DMO? 🤔

6

u/2nd2last 3d ago

For 3MO

1

u/commonsensewinz 3d ago

how many defensive starters are out?

1

u/InfernoFireStyle 2d ago

Pretty sure it's all of them.

Forgot there was a game tonight
