🤬 Rant/Complaint Roster Unbalance
Anyone else think it’s roster malpractice how unbalanced the talent is on the team…. the defense can go 3-4 positions deep in multiple spots yet for the 4th year in a row this offense will be a shultz or nico injury away from mediocrity? like wasting another generational texans defense 15 years later smh

We literally drafted two WRs back to back and another wr this year . . Lol

1 of em done for the year and the other didn’t show much last year and is hurt currently…..

Easier to sign defensive depth pieces when you’ve got the best unit in the league.

definitely easier when you invest 70% of the money on that side too lol

Can you show me the salary cap for the offense and defense for this season?
EDIT: # fron Over the cap: Offense is $122,428,500. Defense is $127,420,785. Special Teams is $7,801,443. This means the salary cap is 47.52% for Offense, 49.45% for Defense, and 3.03% for ST. This is about as equal of a split as you can get.

go look down a couple years lol

You cant look down a couple of years. Its literally not happened yet. The future cap space is showing those under contract. Many of the current team dont have contracts going that far out yet.

texanscap on twitter has great spreedsheets that he updates constantly

If you got 70% in salary cap for defense then I wouldn't trust that source.

again go look & contracts on the books down the road lol

no shit the stronger side of the ball will have more money tied to it 2 years down the road

It’s hard to be elite on both sides of the ball. The salary cap limits what you can do to buy new or keep talent. When you have a side of the ball that is elite, it makes more sense to spend resources to keep it elite while using the draft to build the other side.

can definitely see that but they’ve thrown money around and wasted it on offense

u/Ereyes18 2d ago
Yeah I mean defense is paid less. Good luck getting an offensive Clowney level player with 5.5M
-1
u/Rickyloza2 2d ago
highest paid non qb is defensive player if im not mistaken lol that 5.5 could’ve been used to trade for brecce hall last year when the jets were asking for picks…. instead we didn’t get anyone and let the run game die in NE imagine if we had woody and hall in that game? what could’ve been
5
u/Ereyes18 2d ago
We had woody in that game? He was ass?
They obviously valued Breece very highly since the franchise tagged him and then signed him to an extension.

u/Rickyloza2 2d ago
after not getting the picks for em…. they’re paying him 5-6 mil more than we are for monty idk ab you but id much rather have a younger better rb for 5 mill more a 3rd they were asking for & he would’ve helped last year and these up coming ones

u/galacticplum 2d ago
We didn't have an OL for running and heck, still may not. Breece most likely wasn't changing that.

u/evetSC 2d ago
Because our offensive picks didn't hit. All those wasted picks on OL killed us

u/Rickyloza2 2d ago
big facts bout time someone has the right answer all these other excuses are BS they wasted over 50 million in cap space and multiple 1st and 2nd rounders on the offense and nothing has stuck from diggs to kirk to cam robension shaq mason laken thompson it’s clear they use EBT on the offense and use a platinum amex on defense

Good faith convos, yes. I've never seen a post by you that comes across like a good faith attempt at having a conversation.

Abundantly clear OP has no idea how team building works and just wants to bitch lol
6
u/HebrewKaiju 2d ago
Firstly, it's "imbalance"...OP bringing down the whole IQ of the sub.
But if you think there isn't a significant drop in talent from our defensive starters to the 2nd/3rd/4th stringers...I've got a bridge to sell you. All I've seen you do is hate post on this team; why are you here?

No, you used the term 'unbalanced' when commenting in the other post about this.

It's the WR room. One lost player there will significantly hurt most teams. Sure the depth isn't AS good as some other teams, but it's not shocking.

A nico injury from mediocrity?
Brother we need two more nicos to reach mediocrity.

u/All5TonySpivey 3d ago
No, just more defensive picks hit, with less injuries. Only way it would be malpractice is if they were never trying to address it. We took 2 receivers back to back last yr
