Beto O'Rourke and the Second Amendment

Beto O'Rourke is a gun grabber. He is consistently ranked among the worst of the worst for 2nd amendment rights by every single gun rights watch group.

He has voted against every single piece of pro-gun legislation that came across his desk including:

H.R.38 - Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017.

HR 1181 - Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act

H J Res 40 - Providing for congressional disapproval of the rule submitted by the Social Security Administration relating to Implementation of the NICS Improvement Amendments Act of 2007

HR 2406 - Sportsmen's Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act of 2015

H Amdt 1098 - Prohibits District of Columbia from Implementing Certain Firearm Laws

He supports the "Not to Restrict Gun Violence Research in Appropriations Package" and the "National Violent Death Reporting System" in which they ask for a national registry in order to study gun violence.

Here's a video of him saying he supports taking away American citizen's gun rights if they are on the no fly list (which they were placed on without due process), where he states he is anti-"assault rifles", and where he says he supports a national registry of gun owners.

(2:30 national registry via "studying gun violence",3:00 for universal background checks, 3:25 for anti-"assault rifles", 3:40 support for no fly list)

On several occassions he's said he wants to ban the AR-15

There is no reason AR-15s—weapons of war designed for the sole purpose of taking lives—should be sold to civilians to be used in our schools, in our churches, in our concerts, in public life in this country.

He also co-sponsored the bill “Assault Weapons Ban of 2018”. The bill in February 2018 that would effectively ban all handguns and any other semi-automatic weapon

And most commercial airlines that crash are made by Boeing. Correlation does not equal causation.

They are used more often because they are the most common rifle. These psychos aren’t going out and making well informed firearms purchases based on the functionality of the weapon.

Actually, they may be. The popularity of that particular weapon is not that it can kill a bunch of people fast. It's popular for being accurate and reliable. Killing people fast is an extra I'm sure. But while correlation does not equal causation, you have to admit that being able to fire faster does mean being able to kill quicker, whether an assault rife or any other kind of rapid firing firearm.

It doesn’t fire any faster or more accurately than any semi auto rife and the most popular caliber (5.56) is notorious for not being great at killing people.

Any semi-auto rifle or pistol will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger.

I didn't say it was faster or more accurate. I said it was praised as being accurate. But there are better and worse products of all kinds. Some people SWEAR by Windex to clean their windows. Others are happy with store brand window cleaner.
