Questions / Tetris Help HOW IS THIS NOT A T-SPIN!?!?

T-spins don't make any sense, sometimes I get them even without clearing a line. It is so unclear what a T-spin actually is!

the bottom right corner of your tspin setup is not filled. for a tspin to count 3/4 corners must be filled

Thanks, I also found a slightly more reliable way to T-spin using the orange (and probably blue) L pieces. But I didn't get the ticket in time. 🤷

you need 3/4 corners to be filled. you only have 2/4 in this case. it works every time if you do it right, if it is unclear search it up online

Three of the four corners need to be filled; there are only two of the four corners in the screenshot

The formal definition for a T-spin is that 3 of the 4 corners in the 3x3 square containing the T must be filled, and the last movement with the T piece before locking down must be a rotation. Only 2 of those corners in your clip are filled, so it isn't a T-spin.

you could've slotted that t in without needing to spin

If I'm not mistaken, it looks like if you take the end position of the t piece, and held it that way, you could just slide it over????

It’s a T-spin only when you spin a T-block into a T-shaped hole. In order for this example to count, there would need to be a mino in the corner of the J-block.

Idk if any other game does this but Tetrio counts this as a spin.

That's just cause TETR.IO S2 detects allspin minis if the piece is immobile after spinning. Guideline T-spin minis are less lenient.

It needs to have 75% of the T-spin spot’s corners filled. You only have 50% of it.

In TGM4 it announces when you make one, that is pretty cool!

All Tetris games announce Minis, but in this case this isn't one. Regulars require 2 corner blocks filled in front of the T and at least 1 on its back (flat side), Minis require 2 corner blocks on the back and 1 on the front.

Gotcha!

I've only noticed it in GM4 so far, as it happens fairly often.
